Oatmeal Hydrating Serum

$0.00

Description

Details

Of all of our serums- this is made to be the most moisturizing, and gentle.  It's great under makeup, under lotion, or all by itself.  This is the one to use if you've had a cold, and the skin around your nose is red and flakey- or if you have a tendency to have very "reactive" skin that easily turns pink.  It contains:

Hydrolyzed Oatmeal extract- it's soothing, and helps to draw moisture from the air to keep skin soft and dewey.

Licorice Extract- just a little.  Large quantities of licorice can lighten skin, but I've used just a smidge because it's wonderful for skin calming.  It's moisturizing, soothing, a great anti-oxidant, and wonderful for ecezma.

Sea Kelp Bioferment (seamollient)- a fantastic skin hydrator made from sea kelp that's been fermented with lactobacillus bacteria (the stuff that makes milk into yogurt).  The fermentation process makes all of the vitamins and minerals more available to be used for your skin.

Green Tea extract that's loaded with polyphenols to give your skin anti-oxidant protection.  It's also a lovely soother.

Tamarind seed extract-for a super boost of hydration.  In recent studies it's been shown to out preform hyaluronic acid in terms of skin hydration and for the smoothing of fine lines and wrinkles.

There aren't a ton of botanicals, or anything to upset sensitive skin.  It's cooling, gentle, and perfect for everyday use.

This serum is thick, and a little bit gooey- and it smells kind of like the ocean because of the sea kelp- but soaks in beautifully and makes your skin soo soft and smooth.   If you're acne-prone to boot- try a sample of this first.

You get a 2 ounce bottle that will last you quite a long time.  Pregnancy Safe.  Shelf life 6 months.

Ingredients: Distilled Water, Green Tea Extract, Licorice Extract, Tamarind Seed Extract, Lactobacillus/Kelp Ferment Filtrate, Hydrolyzed Oats,  Gluconolactone (and) Sodium Benzoate, Hydroxypropyl starch phosphate , Panthenol

I usually wait longer to write reviews of products but I have been using this for a week now and I love it. I was using the green tea and aloe serum and decided to try this one instead this time as I have drier skin. This makes my skin so soft and smooth. My current routine is the KISS cleanser, AHA serum, oatmeal serum mixed with 2-3 drops pure jojoba oil. Works wonderful under cream foundation.

I've been coming here for years and don't think I've ever left a review but I really owe one to this product. I ordered a sample of this the first time I shopped here and it's the reason I keep coming back (though I always it as an excuse to get other goodies). I have allergies most of the time and when I don't, it's because I have a cold. The result is the skin around my nose is constantly red and irritated and even gets little pimples/sores. If I'm diligent enough with this serum, I can usually avoid that. If it does get sore, a dab of this is the only thing that helps. I normally just use it around my nose but will use it on my entire face if it's feeling irritated (which for some reason tends to happen when I travel). One thing that's maybe a little odd is that I always get several tiny sample bottles instead of the full size. I ordered the full size once and it seemed to become kind of watery before I was able to get even halfway through. And I can fit a sample bottle into my purse very easily. Please, please, please, for the sake of my nose, never stop making this!

I've tried samples of 3 other serums here so far, and luckily, this one, the most affordable one, also turns out to be the best for me. This stuff is pretty miraculous for my dry and sensitive facial skin. Doesn't bother my sensitive eyes either. It dries to an almost powdery, smooth finish on my skin. I also tried it on a strange flakey, almost eczematous patch that I have on one finger currently, and it's even starting to heal that up when nothing else has (including vitamin E from capsules, Zum rub, neosporin ointment, etc.). Seeing it hydrate that area the first time was amazing, took only about 5 minutes to see totally visible results and relieve the itching. Awesome product!

Wow. I got a sample of this and barring a skin meltdown will definitely get a full size before it could possible run out. I have mild rosacea with a pesky patch on one of my cheeks, and this has been so soothing, and in addition to not making things worse has actually helped with some of the redness and makes my skin feel soft and smooth. I bought it because oatmeal and licorice are things I know people with rosacea have had success with, and so far, it has performed better than more expensive options.

I initially bought a sample of this and made myself give it a few days of wear before ordering a full. I use OCM and a pretty rich moisturizer, but was still getting "pull lines" from dryness in my T-zone and some raised irritation bumps on my cheekbones from transitional weather, hyperactive HVAC, and pollen. It's so thick here, I get rashes as well as respiratory reactions. This stuff is so comfortable with and without makeup and seems to form a protective barrier against the elements. After a few days use, roughness is gone and I look less raggedy overall! :)

This serum is the bomb. During the summer I can generally get away with just using jojoba oil as a moisturizer, but as winter approached my skin demanded something more. I'd tried a hyaluronic acid serum previously, but couldn't make up my mind about purchasing and just jumped on this while I was making another order. It's beautiful. A little bit covers your entire face, and my skin instantly feels cool and soothed. I have some redness and bumpiness on my cheeks and jawline, and this has done a lot to help smooth that out. The rest of my face is just constantly soft and hydrated. I'm running out and having a panic attack. Definitely will never go without this!

My face often gets red and irritated, even by products geared towards sensitive skin, and has been bone dry all winter, with the occasional blemish. I received this serum in the mail while at work, applied it to some inflamed areas, and it absorbed brilliantly and calmed everything down! For the price, this fragrance-free, super gentle and very hydrating serum can't be beat.

Lifesaver serum if you struggle with sensitivity or dryness (I've got both, unfortunately). I've tried almost everything to get my facial eczema to calm down and heal, from naturals to prescription steroids, and this beats any cortisone cream by a mile. It almost instantly resolves redness and irritation and creates a very smooth finish which is great under additional moisturizers or foundation. The bottle is conveniently sized for mid day reapplications and the pump dispenser is very hygenic. Will definitely repurchase!

This is a 5 STAR Serum!! I love the smell of this very light and not strong. It is very very moisturising for my skin. Great for Acne Prone skin. I have the OCT 2011 version and its a bit on the watery side and not the gooey thick gel it noted. I like how I can use it on its own or pump in 1-3 drops into my moisturiser. I've only used it for 3 weeks and it hasn't broken me out, I find it very healing and protective. Overall great Serum could even substitute to use the serum only in the summer as a moisturiser with a pump of aloe vera gel would be great. I love the Serum and thanks Karen for this. I wish there was an Oatmeal Body lotion that contains some this wonderful serums ingredients also if you do reformulate adding more licorice to heal acne red marks would be great!!

Indispensable for sensitive skin types.
A wonderful all-around hydrator for daily use, and a terrific follow-up for my 2-3 nights weekly 8% AHA Toner treatment. Very soothing, healing, and protective.

Me and myReview by Amanda T.
Me and my hubby just LOVE this serum!
I bought a sample size and after using it for two days the improvement to my skin was very noticable. I had a spot on my chin for a few days (stress and hormones!) that had remained sore and the serum not only dried the spot up, but healed it completely within a few hours. The flakines I tend to get around my nose after winter has completely gone and the texture of my skin has also improved. It also seems to have balanced my combination skin out. The overall effect nourishing and soothing.

My skin is usually quite sensitive but I have had no reactivity whatsover since using this. As well as healing and soothing, it seems to protect the skin so that products that may normally make me break out, don't. I even used it under a rubbishly moisturisor my sister gave me with no ill effects.

I use it in the morning, usually under the Firming moisturisor, and in the evening I use it on its own. I wake up with fantastically glowing, even-toned soft skin which for a very fair girl like myself is an absolute blessing.

After witnessing the results on my skin, my hubby wanted to try it for himself - and as a result, we are now both seriously addicted to it! He uses it on it's own after spritzing his face with rosewater ;D

I've used this on spots, dry flaky skin, and on small burns with the same excellent results. I even lent some to my sister for breastfeeding nipples and it worked a treat.

If you have dry/combination skin, skin with an uneven texture/tone, or are prone to irritation and are unsure of which serum to start with, I'd highly recommend this one. It's certainly worth buying a sample - but be warned, you might get addicted!

Lovely, lovely serum.Review by Tuan T.
Lovely, lovely serum. I have used it for two months, in combination with the Super Serum in the morning and on its own at night. The freckles and pigmentation I gained during my stay in Western Australia early summer have faded quite visibly.

OHS is very gentle and moisturising. Based on my experience, it is more soothing than the Green Tea and Aloe Serum. My once oily skin has become normal.

I was wondering if Karen would make a similar product with higher concentration of licorice because I have been trying to get rid of my freckles for decades.

This is goodReview by Audris T.
This is good stuff. I use this atop my Super or Facelift serums and just before sealing all the serum goodness with a layer of Firming or Raspberry moisturiser.

Oatmeal is what I use when I feel my face needs some moisture boost. With the usage of SN's skincare, my once-oily skin has been tamed. Thus, I feel the need for more moisture sans the grease. Oatmeal is perfect and does it in a subtle but effective way, without the shine.

It is also gentle enough to go on the undereye and on eyelids as well for me.

The 2oz bottle will last you a couple of months with daily usage! Good value for money.

This lovely serumReview by Liz K.
This lovely serum is the ONLY reason I still have a nose instead of a tattered knob hanging off of my face after a two week bout with a hellacious phlegmy cold, so I can personally attest to and recommend its soothing, moisturizing powers in that area.

I've found it to be a wonderful addition to the hydrating part of my routine as well. After a few quick sprays of hydrosol du jour, two drops is enough for my whole face. It leaves my skin feeling smooth and soft. Feels so fine, I just love it! As Rhys mentioned above, it also makes a fine moisturizer mixed in the palm with a drop or two of my current favorite face oil.

When I generously shared a few drops with my man after spraying his face with my witch hazel hydrosol, I left him staring in wonder at his reflection, his face about two inches away from the bathroom mirror, muttering "what the heck is IN this stuff?" HA!

I am really happy with these serums. I have been using the Oatmeal in conjunction with the Facelift serum for about a week and my skin is soooo smooth. I can't believe the difference in texture in such a short time. It's amazing. The oatmeal serum is nice and soothing and soaks in quickly. I use it after the Facelift serum for extra hydration.

After having tried so many things with my ekzema on both eyelids, I gave a try to the Oatmeal Hydrating Serum. And what a miracle, my ekzema is completely gonne within a week !!!!
I am so happy, because I had this ekzema for more than a year and nothing helped.
I mix one drop of the serum with one drop of amond oil as nighttreatment. For the day I use the serum all over the face and then my normal daycreme. Everybody with problemskin should give this "miracleserum" a chance.
Thank you soooo.... much, Karen

I love allReview by Rhys M.
I love all the hydrating serums, and since I'm currently using this one, I thought I'd review it. It's wonderful under moisturiser, or mix it in your hand with your carrier oil of choice to make your own moisturiser. Or do that and add one of the gelled oils here over top of it. Seamollient and oats are of my favourite skincare ingredients, and this one has both.

It works a treat to calm down any bits of redness or irritation on your face, and also helps under balms or lotions for really dry patches or even eczema anywhere on your body.

I highly recommend this product for combination, sensitive, acne-prone skin (like my own). I often have trouble with redness and blemishes (and many other skin issues), but since I started using this serum, my skin has been MUCH calmer. This is highly recommended for sensitive skin. I think it works even better than the aloe and green tea serum for redness and inflammation.
