Absolutely gorgeous. Must try it
Sorry I'm a bit slow on the uptake lately, but I'm still doing housework after Fiona came in and helped clear out some of the worst last week-end. The place was locked up for months while I was in New York and oh, man, is it a disaster. Well, not so much anymore, but it still wants a few more days of work, and you wouldn't believe the amount of junk I've tossed. But I need some rest, too. Sadly, I've not had time to do much fluffing at all this week, or pay as much attention to foums, blogs, or other stuff. But it will get there, then I'll completely collapse, then things will get back to normal (as much as they ever do) around here.

Very nice, Zeebs! I wouldn't have thought to pair those, either. I like how you blended the Sapphire into a color that works well in this combo. I think that is why I am such a fan of the mineral shadows to begin with. They are so versatile. And I usually just use Sapphire to make a strong liner color. That will change, now!!!!

Yeah i was talking to you zeebs. Sorry it wasn't very clear. I though it was probably an everyday look, it seems very versatile and not at all over the top. If you can get away with wearing fun make-up everyday then you should!

Re: T.G.I. FOTD's
I did a sort of gypsy thing today, because I'm wearing a ruby silk tunic and a batik print linen skirt - of course it's pouring outside, but you can't have everything.
Tried the oil control primer, and it does indeed cover pores like you wouldn't believe - if you don't have oily skin, don't use this everyday, but it could be good for those 90+ degree days - it is pretty dry.
Medium coverage foundation.
Date Bait
Pretty Plum + Tart Light mixed for blush
Beach Bunny for contouring
Naughty, Wink WInk, Gasp for E/S over Clear Liner base
SN Mascara, of course
Amethyst Liner
Beloved Kiss Bliss
La Femme for perfume.
Fun!

HI, Rhys,
You mentioned contouring. How do you do that? I have a round face, and when I'm a little bloaty, I look like a beachball! It would be great to at least give the illusion of having bone structure. Thanks,
Lauren

Re: T.G.I. FOTD's
For simple contouring - Beach Bunny or Love Lure (I'm pale) and the fibreoptic blush brush are great tools, because when you use the FO, it's a lot harder to 'streak' down your face.
You could also use Tahiti Sweetie if you're darker, or mix up a little foundation that's one or two shades darker than your normal colour to use but I'm lazy.
Okay, that being said: Use just a little bit of BB (or contouring powder of your choice) at your temples near your hairline. Blend, though you shouldn't have to blend too much with the FO.
Then make the fish face. Again, using the FO, start from close to your hairline and go down the hollow of your cheek. Stop under the cheekbone, you don't want to go all the way to your mouth. Blend it with your blush, shouldn't be difficult - we're not using tonnes of powder here.
Then dust some lightly just under your jawline and chin to help hide sags, bags, or bloat.
You might want to dust just a touch of bronzer down the front of your nose, and across your chin, too, to make it look like you've got a bit of a glow from the sun.
You can check out some youtube vids on contouring, but the problem with those is that most of them (especially the ones about contouring your nose) will look great on camera, but in real life lighting it just doesn't work for most of us.

Re: T.G.I. FOTD's
Fantastic lesson!!
TGIF indeed- Jamie called in today- so it was just Sue and I- and a ton of orders. To relax after we were done with shipping I played with all kinds of fun things.
I did Wave, Haze, and Sailor- a very pretty eye- blue, but not super blue or over the top. Then I did an eye of Disco, Chocolate Twinkle and a little bit of Sprite to highlight- Sprite was pretty good, but next time I might do Fire to play off the copper tones of the Chocolate Twinkle or switch to Bittersweet to play off the golds in Disco. Then I wanted to create a look with Orchid, and ended up using Orchid and Grassroots Green as a liner...it also worked with Ft. Knox as a liner, and I'm pretty sure it would also work with Envy, or one of the blue liner colors we have- either Sapphire or Sailor. I skipped the highlighter on that one- it's a pretty light eye to begin with.

Yeah, it wasn't OTT but it also wasn't really a professional look. I think it was a cute look for my job that only requires casual attire, or for a weekend day-into-casual evening look if you have an office job. Thanks for the compliments everyone! I was pleasantly surprised at how silver Sapphire looked when blended over Luxe.piccola_donna wrote:Yeah i was talking to you zeebs. Sorry it wasn't very clear.
