I tried it on myself yesterday..i started my eye makeup abt 7.30am and went to church. Came back around 1500hrs..the colour was there and I was amazed cos by 2 to 3 hrs time my e/s fades away but I love the look of my eyes when I came back it was shiny and nice..i cld see the colour of my e/s. loved it. Today I tried it with oil control serum but not much of luck,,it faded away by 2 to 3 hrs time.
Thanks to you lavender for the discovery.....

I hate dry mascara...

Re: What a strange discovery!
So, I tried this for the past few days...and, it works! Yippee!! I was honestly floored that it worked so well, because I have very oily lids. But, I applied it, let it dry, and then applied my eye make up without a primer. The colors didn't go on quite as vibrant as they do with the primer, but I didn't mind the slightly softer look.
6 hours later it was still perfect and my mascara wasn't on my cheeks! Plus I noted the really odd sensation of my eyelids actually feeling a bit dry. Which I don't think means they were too dry, just that for the first time since I can remember, they weren't greasy.
12 hours later and the colors had faded some, but I still didn't have raccoon eyes...another first for me! And my eyes weren't stinging from the oil getting into them late in the evening.
By hour 14 I did notice some smudging around my eyes as some oil had started up under my eyes again, but by then it was time to take my make up off and obviously no product can control it 24/7, nor do I need it to, so that was fine.
So of course I ordered a F/S serum!
We'll see if this keeps up or does as well with darker colors (that day I was wearing Sizzle, High Beam, and Tiger Lily with mascara, no liner).
I'll have to do it with pictures one day to show you. But my results looked pretty close to yours MLH!! Interestingly enough, I think the cucumber eye gel does much the same thing for my under eye area. My theory is it's the aloe in them both that hydrates the skin so well it reduces the oil production in the area.
Thank you so much for posting your experiment and for keeping us posted on it MLH, my eyes are thanking you!

Hey, that is awesome news! SO glad it worked out for you also superwahz, because I know how irritating it is to have oily eyelids and the frustration of nothing really work as good as we would like it. But since I have found out this thing I have been continueing to use it, and I have to tell ya, it is still working very well if not better... Looks like the longer I use it, it normalizes the balance of my lids. Even when I don`t wear any makeup and it takes some time before I put it on during the day, my eyelids feel soft and supple.superwahz wrote:So, I tried this for the past few days...and, it works! I will however try a primer that can even out the look on my eyelids as I have tiny veins that are showing, so I will use that whenever I try to look extra special and polished. Lily is sending me a sample of the eyeshadow primer so I can`t wait to try that one out because it has some color to it, so I look forward to try that out when I want a more polished and even out look

Thanks so much for letting me know it worked for you too, I am so happy it did! Yay!

Re: What a strange discovery!
Oh it didnt work for me yesterday...somehow the e/s faded and went missing..hahahaha...well i will just keep trying and see how it goes.
Re: What a strange discovery!
Hi: I came across a similar discovery. I use Super Serum and Daily defense moisturizer, and I put both on my eyelids and face. After they dry, I put on concealer powder on my lids with a concealer brush and kind of press it on. Then I put on eyeshadow, and it lasts for hours. I always had very oily eyelids and could never keep eyeshadow from creasing, so I rarely wore it. This works great for me!
My routine is so fast now because I just put the serum on my hands, rub them together then all over my face. I don't avoid my eye area anymore because it's absorbed so fast.
So I agree that putting your serum and moisturizer on your eyelids (followed by a concealer powder as a base) is the way to go with oily eyelids. And my oily skin (at 42, this is really getting old) is under much better control with super serum and daily defense, too. I don't have to pat off oil mid-day anymore. I figure I'm aging well!

Re: What a strange discovery!
I tried both the Green Tea & Aloe and the Oil Control Serum for this purpose, but I had no success. The SN primer works for me, today my makeup lasted thru a shower during which I washed my face 2x with Dr. Bronner's (my mascara washed off but my e/s didn't!!), but the colors aren't as vibrant as with the TFSI. I still haven't tried the creamy concealer as a primer, but that's what I plan to do next. I would say that it's kind of a trade-off at this point -- do I want the vibrant colors, or the natural ingredients? SN primer has the added benefit that it is cheaper than the TFSI. Anyway, the serum trick didn't work for me.
UPDATE: the creamy concealer works too, but the SN primer lasts longer, and the color is about the same.

Re: What a strange discovery!
I'm desperate for something to keep my shadow from creasing, so I ordered a sample of this. UDPP, Elf, TFSI, BE primer, Sephora brand...they all last two hours, tops. Putting Paint Pot on top of primer gives me maybe three hours without creasing, but in every case the color fades. I'll report back, thanks for the heads-up MLH!
