Wedding Help Request

Post by lcash » Wed Apr 08, 2009 6:04 pm

Hi, ladies,
My son's wedding is just over two weeks away, ( :o ) and I'm looking for suggestions for makeup. I'll be using my normal foundation (1 Ebony/.5 peach/6 medium base and a twink of Date Bait mixed in). Wearing a royal blue pant suit with pearls and pearl earrings. Still playing with hair - something pulled back with curls. I'm cool-fair complexion with hazel eyes and blond hair. Suggestions for eyes and blush? What should I use for PP? Lipstick? And a wierd question - how do I keep from making a huge mess when I cry? (He's my only child, after all.....sniffs and dabs eyes). Thanks in advance, gals. I'm feeling the need for moral and makeup support!! L.

That's soon!!! Wow! It's the start of a whole new adventure. I always cry too- even when DH is shooting a wedding, and I don't even know the couple- can't help it. Waterproof mascara- must must must have that one, and some sort of tissue stash. If you're a real crier- go light on the blush- or even do a preventative coat of Unblush if you have a tendency to turn pink, and light on the foundation to keep the tear marks less obvious.

What time is the wedding? Is it formal or more casual? Purples- it will go great with the navy, and great with your eyes- and it will help make everything look white in the pics. Perfecting Powder or one of its tinted sisters for the finishing powder- it photographs well. Lightish colors on the eye makeup- and keep darker colors out of the tear duct area- you want to create the illusion of your eyes being nice and open, and wide apart. Hmmm....may have to whip some things up for the lippie- we're a little light on lippies at the moment. The other lippie option is Covergirl Outlast or one of the super all-day lippies- the ones that come as a 2 part system- it never ever goes away, and doesn't transfer if you're kissing a lot of people. It's very drying, but for a once in a lifetime day it's good stuff. If you have a pic- PM me with it, and we'll figure it out.

It's going to be a fabulous day! I've been to literally hundreds of weddings, and sometimes crazy things happen- but they always work out, they're always a lot of fun, and each one is unique and beautiful, and memorable. And you get a daughter out of the deal!!! You're going to be a fantastic MIL.

Karen, you're such a fairy godmother! The wedding is at 10AM with reception from 12-2:30pm. I was hoping for purples - they're my favorite, but I was concerned about a clash with the royal blue suit. I've got every shade of purple ES you've ever made, so that certainly won't be a problem. As a matter of fact, I've got pretty much everything you've produced in the last two years, over half in samples!! Any particular brand of mascara? I'll try to find a picture with good lighting and send it to you tomorrow. Thanks for your help!! L.
