rapture
I'm thinking about getting Rapture before it goes away (either all the way or just temp). I didn't much like Swept Away, it looked really awkward on me, made me look older. It didn't work on any of my friends either. Is Rapture too close? I checked the pic in the swatch thread, and they look way too similar to cause a bit of concern, but if it looks different on... I know it's a final sale, so I would like you use my hard-earned competition winnings wisely

Re: rapture
I feel the same way about Swept Away. Somehow my skin tone just couldn't take that particular depth of pink. I'm sorry I can't add any comments about Rapture though. I didn't get that.

Re: rapture
I took the plunge and ordered it during the weekend, along with Beloved and Creamsicle. Beloved I've wanted from the start and always seemed to have other things further up the wishlist. I chose to grab Rapture this time because of this picture below. Regal looks very good on me, all grown up and elegant. I cannot wear brown lippy at all. So I'm confident that Rapture will be not too bright and not too garish on my very pale, buttery gold skin.

Hi Egerandi,
I can't comment on Rapture I'm afraid, but unfortunately I had the same opinion about Swept Away as you. I am very much a nude lip girl (Divine is my absolute favourite) so it was way too pink.
Whilst it does nothing for me as a lippie it makes an absolutely fabulous cream blush
! Might be worth a try if it's currently consigned to the back of your make up drawer/tool box/shoe box/bag.
I have a number of SN lippies - mainly the Lipstick or Demi Gloss formulations - that I use as cream blushes; probably not the best idea on oily skin but as my cheeks are a little on the dry side it's perfect for me. They're ones which are way too bright/pigmented for my taste in lipsticks (much prefer sheer glosses like Gold Blush, the now defunked Rhonda & new Precious) such as Capricious, but as you only need a dab are ideal for cheek colours.

Oh, it wasn't the too pink part, it was just, hmm, odd and off. I can totally wear pinks, I even have Fearlesskitten1711 wrote:Hi Egerandi,

Re: rapture
Ah, heh, nevermind, my dilemma is over: Rapture is sold out/gone. Thanks for all the input, ladies!
Re: rapture
I think we have similar skin tones, and I also have trouble with certain pinks for lips. I find that it's actually the *brown* element combined with both red and pink that goes icky on me. I think the red and brown fights the yellow in my complexion.egerandi wrote:Oh, it wasn't the too pink part, it was just, hmm, odd and off. I can't really wear nude browns either - Centerfold is OK, and if I layer some Modern Poet over it, it's a very nice shimmery nude. Still, it washes me out a bit. I prefer pink nudes, I even tried using the blushes and layered some gloss over them.

Exactly, I completely agree.zeebs wrote: I think we have similar skin tones, and I also have trouble with certain pinks for lips. I find that it's actually the *brown* element combined with both red and pink that goes icky on me. I think the red and brown fights the yellow in my complexion.
Re: rapture
Rapture's still there - and worth a try. I couldn't wear Grace at all, can marginally get away with Swept Away (it does have a kind of 'weird pink' effect on me), but Rapture rocks. Preferably with a coat of clear gloss or Sparkle over it if you've got that.
Worth having - the tiny touch of brown really doesn't show up in it (I can wear mauvey lippies like XOXO, but pink or rose/brown never looks right on me). So grab it while you can! It's a gorgeous dusty rose colour. I don't wear lipstick too often, but it's my go-to when I do.
