Probably TMI!!!

Post by hotmama » Thu Mar 26, 2009 11:35 am

Just needed a safe place to vent...today I'm putting on my big girl undies and I'm filing for divorce. We've been separated for a year now and nothing has changed. As much as my heart is breaking, I know its the right thing to do. Things will never ever be right between us. Trust and respect levels are down to zilch. So its now or never. We had dinner the other night, and I sooo wanted to hear him say this is all a mistake....but it never came. Only more finger pointing and score keeping about who's done what....

He's missing the boat on a wonderful family. It's always sad to hear about a divorce, but it's the start of a new beginning- with a future that will hopefully be much better for you and your kids. My mother just gave me a coffee mug that says "There's nothing you can't do without confidence, good friends, and the perfect shade of lipstick". We're here for you.

Sorry to hear that Nikki, having been there and done that , I sympathize with you. But I can also truthfully say that even though there were plenty of hard time while making those decisions and then finalizing everything , in the end I'm glad I left, I am a much happier, calmer and healthier person now than I was in my previous marriage of 18 years. I was blessed with a wonderful 2nd husband who worships the ground I walk on and who makes it his goal in life to make sure that I am happy. No, I didn't have kids involved, but if your realationship was full of blame, the best thing that can happen is that you give them one happy parent to nurture them, rather than 2 unhappy ones. Hang in there , and remember that you have our support.

Big thanks to you guys. I slipped out my phone while waiting 4 my attorney and was brought to tears from all the encouraging posts. It was rough, but noone was thriving with us together. It was really painful as our anniversary was Tuesday. But I made it through. I'm remembering each day is a chance at a happier day. Thanks guys.
