cream concealer as bronzer/contour/blush base

Post by bellatete » Wed Feb 20, 2013 4:43 am

for over a year i have been hoping and begging for a matte cream bronzer from sn, sadly without success. until it dawned on me a couple of weeks ago: why not try a darker cream concealer for that purpose??

so i ordered the no. 4 cream concealer (didn't want to go too dark) and tried it out, and ever since it's my go-to bronzer and/or contour. i use it daily and i love the subtle effect it gives.

i will order the no. 5 cream concealer next and see how that works for me. for reference, my normal concealer colour (when used as concealer) is no. 1 ;)

i also used it as a cream base for powder blush. if you are into layering your powder blush over cream blush but don't have one to match, just use a cream concealer, either in your exact shade or slightly darker. i didn't notice the powder blush i put on top turning significantly darker, only slightly deaper/more intense, since it had a sticky base to adhere to. and it lasted much longer on my face than without the concealer underneath.

thought i share my findings with all the fair skinned girls on the forum. as bronzer/contour it will probably not work that well on darker skin, but as a blush base it should work ;)

edited to add:
i forgot to mention how i apply it  i apply the concealer straight from the stick in the areas i want it, i.e. if i use it as a contour i draw a generous line under my cheek bones, for bronzer/blush base i draw on my cheek bones or the apples of my cheeks. then i use a big and dense brush - my favourite is the bronzer brush from ecotools, but the sn blush brush or any kabuki really would work just as well - and blend blend blend. that's it! topping it off with blush or powder bronzer is optional.
