Lip Color Combos

Post by Oxana124 » Tue Jan 10, 2012 12:42 pm

Thought it would be fun to share some of our favorite lip color combinations.

I have a couple I recently discovered that I love.

This first one is Bella topped with Excite. This is super pretty because Bella is so cool, but Excite is warm. So you get a neat color, the cool in Bella also makes my teeth look whiter, but the gold of Excite really warms up Bella so it doesn't look too cool.

This one is my favorite nude lip, but it's a bit complex. I start with Bella applied lightly and top with Nice Tan. This makes a nice cool nude. Then I top with Excite. It ends up being a color that is not too cool and not too warm, but really complex and pretty.

And last but not least, Gigi topped with Icing. A very bold and bright lip!

What are your favorite combinations to do?

Resurrecting this thread because I'd love to know what other people are layering :)

I quite like:
Temptation topped with Fanfare (Fanfare softens the shimmer effect, which can be kinda full-on)
Soft or Beguile, topped with Allure (Makes Allure pop more)
Aria for solid colour and a light dabbing of Soft to give sheen!

Any other ideas? You can probably tell I usually use something for pigmented 'colour' and then something lighter or sheerer to give it more dimension.

I have been wearing Provoke with Fanfare layered over it, specially focusing at the center of my bottom lip with the Fanfare. It helps add dimension, but also the contrast of the gold over the cool plummy Provoke looks cool.

If anyone else has issues with Kindle being too deep (I think there were discussions about that when it first came out), mixing with Coy lightens it and turns it into the prettiest peach! The resulting shimmer and shine is downright insane, but dabbing with a tissue helps.

Current summer go-to combo is Raindrops on Roses topped with Blushberry.

Asset topped with Black Dahlia is my new favourite combo though the latter leaks a little.
