blush turned black???

Post by KrysD » Wed Nov 16, 2011 2:10 pm

I tried a new liquid primer from elf, put on my foundation, then my blush, and then topped it off with a powdered primer. All products besides liquid primer are silk naturals. My coworker asked me why my cheeks were bruised. Huh? I went to the mirror and my cheeks did look bruised. Like my "Wish You Were Here" blush turned black. :o OMG Anybody know what happened so I do not do it again.

Is it possible that the brush you used had something on it from a previous use? Was it damp?

I am scratching my head on this one, because it has not come up before.......

It was a brush I had used before but the blush went on the correct color and darkened over time. The liquid primer was the only new thing I used. I went from prim and proper for work to goth. lol

Wow!! That's a new one to me too- I've heard of a little color shifting, but never to black. Wish You Were here is dye based, and dyes are a little tricky sometimes. In WWYH it's bound to the mica though.

I'm going to guess it's a reaction with the silicones in the ELF primer with the dyes in the blush?? I couldn't find the ingredients in their primer, but from the pics it looks like it's some sort of silicone gel.
