Texture and finish like Carnation?

Post by meadowbird » Mon May 16, 2011 8:45 pm

I absolutely love the feel, finish and texture of Carnation! It's slippery smooth, very very glossy without being shimmery and has an almost wet laquered look to it. However it's far too cool a pink for me. Can anyone recommend any other shades that have a similar look and feel to Carnation?
Blush : Lovelace ~ Flare ~ Stardust ~ Foxxy
Eyes: Scandal ~ Neuron ~ Sprite ~ Zest
Lips: Zinnia ~ Ambrosia ~ Pretty Please ~ Mango

It depends what color direction you want to go. Carnation is a vegan kisser slicker, so you'll have a better chance finding something similar in feel among those. Have you tried Bobbi? It's a more muted (plummy) pink with the same finish.

The other lippies have different feel, harder, I would say, but the butter creams and the ALGs may be the closest in feel.

Thanks for the suggestions :)
Bobbi doesn't look quite right for me, I don't do well in browns or plums.
I have Ingenue, which I love, it is a bit harder than Carnation but still very smooth. Loving the ALG too!

So strange, some of my buttercreams are hard, but the one I use the most, Menage, is pretty much the same as the vegan KS: I gotta be careful with it, or it crumbles, so I prefer applying it with my fingers. Browns don't work for me either. You may wanna try Menage: it's nude, but more mauve than brown. I layered it over Centerfold the other day to get the perfect mauve nude that matched my shirt :D
