Super Serum & Cystic Acne

Post by cristy_amk » Thu Jan 20, 2011 9:29 am

I get the occasional cystic acne and unfortunately at times I do the big "no no" of squeezing :( For anyone who does this you pretty much know you're normally left with a huge scab on your face that can literally take months to heal and even then it can leave a nasty red mark. Well, I had one cystic acne pop out last week and yes I did squeeze and I regretted it immediately! I was left almost literally with a "hole" on my face where the skin had opened. OMG I had no idea what to do! I'm trying to figure out how to cover this so I don't look hideous going out in public and I'm also trying to figure out how to heal this wound on my face. So I reached for my Super Serum and squeezed a drop right on the opening. It did burn a bit (nothing horrible) and I just left it sit while I applied the rest of my makeup. When I got back to it, some of the fluid from inside (you know that awful seeping) had come out so I took a plain cotton ball, swiped it away, and applied the serum again and let it dry. I then gently applied my makeup and was ready for my day. That night I applied a drop of Super Serum again before bed and once it dried I added a bit of moisturizer (I used Raspberry). The next morning the opening was just a bit dry but had started to heal up very nicely (it was flush w/the skin, no longer raised just a little scab, and was just a bit red). I again applied my serum, let it dry, and then applied more moisturizer to soften the skin. I again applied my base lightly around that area trying to tone done that bit of red but not wanting to draw any attention to the bit of dry skin that was still healing. I am pleased to say that in 3 days I pretty much had the area healed. Normally cystic acne can take me at least 1 week to just get the scab to heal and then another week for most of the redness to go away and then months for the "spot" to go away. I still im in the "spot" stage, but I got to this stage SO MUCH FASTER!

I'm not sure if this would work for anyone else but cystic acne is such a pain to heal I figured I'd put it out there!!!!

Thanks for the suggestion. I get cystic acne as well, so I know how frustrating it is. Have you tried the Green Tea and Aloe Serum as well for this?

I got a sample of the Green Tea and Aloe Serum and have been experimenting with it. LOL, I've actually been switching between Green Tea and the Super Serum. When I treated that one breakout I just stuck to the Super Serum, but if it would happen again I may try the Green Tea to see if it's as effective. So far though, no other breakouts! Thank goodness!
