foundation blunder, need help :(

Post by egerandi » Fri Dec 24, 2010 2:53 pm

I just realized I ran out of foundation, 3 hours before i have to get to the airport, gaaaah.
Anyway, I tried to do this quickly, and make it a little lighter as per previous advice, but I think I majorly screwed up.

According to my original formula, I need 35 medium ivory, 30 zinc, 5 glow, 4 ebony, 1.5 bg, 7 tt and 2-3 lavender.
I didn't wanna do the measuring, so I just dumped a full bag of zinc and a full bag of the new formula together,
and added the rest of the stuff by the little spoon. For some reason I thought a bag has 32 little scoops, but now that I
found my cheat sheet it turns out it's 96!!!

Soooo, should I just triple everything else, or? I remember reading that the new formula (the one that can be used wet)
is a little different ratio than the medium coverage one, but can't find the reference :(

Haaalp :)

Eeek! To me, the new formula takes about as much tint as the medium coverage, but a little more than the original formula. If it were me, and I were on the way to the airport on Christmas Eve, I'd use the white that you already have, and then make a smaller batch to get you through the weekend. Then yes, do a triple batch of it when you get back and your brain isn't jammed with those million little Christmas eve details.

Safe travels!

THaaaaank you :)

I went ahead and doubled the dark additions and the glow, and it seems like I really needed to go that much lighter after all.
At least that's what it seems after letting it sit on my face for a while. In any case, I have my trusty luxury powder and a batch of
TT mixed with OC Blur, as it's gonna be a lazy week anyway, snowshoeing, working from home, all that :)

Have a lovely weekend, lady!
