Lipcolor Help, Please

Post by JannyGirl » Mon Oct 11, 2010 4:25 pm

I am looking for lipcolor suggestions. I'd like something similar to Infatuation, but lighter? I prefer the Kisser Slickers lip glosses or lipsticks over liquid gloss. TIA! :)

Seedy :) It's in the same color family (kinda), but sheer(er). It looks darn dark in the tube, but it goes on sheer. If you want something even lighter, try Damsel. You could also try Pout: it has similar finish to Infatuation.

Thank you for your suggestions. :) Is Pout deeper than Bloom? Bloom is very light on me.

Thanks again! :)

I think Bloom is lighter- it has more pigment and a good bit of titanium dioxide in it- so it covers more than most of the glosses. Pout is maybe a smidge deeper, but the opacity is more like Infatuation.

One more quick question (and my apologies; I realized I should have posted this under "Color Help"). Bloom is very light on me; as in too light -- it washes me out. Is Pout also likely to be too light?

Okay, one more: How dark is Raindrops on Roses?

TIA! :)

Hey, I remember your daughter saying she has Soft. Can you steal it from her and try it? I think that one would be really pretty on you.

Also, what about some of the newer colors like Hibiscus or Heirloom? (Does butter cream count?)

You'll have to tell me what you think of Raindrops on Roses. So tempting! ;)

Hi Feyith! :) You have a good memory! My daughter and I both like Soft quite a lot; just looking to try new things. Do you have any idea about Pout? I'm a little concerned it will be too light. Oh, and I definitely like cool tones

Hmm..had not considered Hibiscus or Heirloom. Why Feyith -- I do believe you are enabling me! ;) I have Wistaria and love the color for summer, though I am not quite as fond of the Butter cream formula, but Hibiscus looks so pretty and Heirloom is a definite possibility.

I am so intrigued by Raindrops on Roses! I wonder if part of it is the name. I cannot decide! ;)

Honestly, I didn't like the shimmer in Pout. I like subtle, natural looking colors and my lips are dark so having bright pink + shimmer = "hi, I'm obviously wearing lipstick!" Seedy and Berry Nice both look dark red on me and Damsel and Very Berry look kinda similar to Bloom minus the frost. Strangely, I love things with gold or silver shimmer because they look more subtle/natural on me than straight up colors. Is that weird?

Anyway, this is not what you were originally asking for but since you brought up Raindrops on Roses, have you checked out Winter Rose? It's my favorite color. (Although I seriously want to try Raindrops on Roses now too.)

Bloom is wash-me-out too light in the winter for me too. Pout is more sheer and shimmery, so it shouldn't be a problem with the color depth. The shimmer level is personal preference- sometimes I feel like a nut, sometimes I don't! Raindrops on Roses is one of my all-time faves- a little deeper than Pout, and kind of a just bitten look.
