Shoppingpoints must be used all at once?

When we have some shoppingpoints earned I wondered if we have to use them ALL up in one buy, or is it possible to decide how many of them we want to part with in a order?
i.e if I have 8 dollars worth of shoppingpoints and I like to use up half of them, can I then deduct 4 dollars off the 8 dollars earned of shoppingpoints and check out, or do I HAVE to use up all of them in one go in order to make use of them?

Haven`t managed to figure out how to do this or even if it is even possible to do it, so thought I`d ask you guys instead of bother Karen with this in case someone here knows

MLH, the last time I used my the site asked me as I check out if I wanted to use them and I did and so it deducted 6 dollars and some change from my balance. I have a lot racked up again but I'm not being asked to use them. I to wonder can we request them and how. If I have in the past I have forgotten.

Yeah, we`ll see if someone can clarify this for us, and if no one knows I will just pop a mail to CS and ask.

I do think they are used all at once. I don't remember an option to use partial points. If something does not seem right for any reason concerning your points, we can always look up your order history.

As for being able to use them, you have to have at least 100 ($5 reward) in order to redeem.

There is nothing wrong with my shopping points so everything is good, never had any troubble, I was just wondering about the partial points use (as you more elegantly put it than I managed to do, lol)
If this is something that isn`t corporated in the system that is just fine, I was just curious about if this was something that other people did and that I had missed something.
