Laurie started it....

Post by karen » Fri Jul 23, 2010 11:53 pm

So Laurie suggested getting a tattoo for Jen's birthday- now I'm sitting here with one too (my first as well)! I like the transformational power of fire (I was a glass artist, and most of the guys in my family were welders) and I like lipstick so I got flaming lipstick!

So I'm sitting there getting my ink and my sister was talking about her old butterfly tattoo- one she got when she was young, and crazy- done with a guitar string- in a hurry before the artist's father got home from work. James specializes in cover-up work, and created a stunning blue heron to cover up her old butterfly.

Thank you Laurie! Today was a great day. I wish you could have been here. Next time! :D

Nice. :D Where is your's located? Your sister's is on her leg, right? Or is that her arm?

I recently got my first two earlier this year too, two weeks apart, on the back of my shoulders. I have my next one all planned out too, whenever that may be.

(whispers furtively...) This could, of course, become the moment of inspiration for a new range of lippies in vivid "why the heck not, seize the moment and LIVE it!" colours... ;)

O wow that's awesome. And I second the "why the heck not, seize the moment and LIVE it!" lipstick idea.

*Nodding modestly*......
I was actually just kind of teasing Jen, but I am thrilled that she and Karen and Karen's sis have now joined me with tattoos! I got my first for my 40th birthday, and started craving more soon after that. I have 3 now, and if I could afford it, I'd have more!
I would have LOVED to join the girls yesterday!!! Both Jen's and karen's tattoos are supercool!

Here are pics of my tattoos, and it would be fun if everybody with tats could post pics on this thread.....

Here are mine.

I means love. I really love the shading work Vic did, but I'm a bit scabby in this pic. Trust me, it looks better in person. I probably should've either snapped the pic right away (too tired) or waited for it to heal (too impatient), but this is the only pic I have of it.
