I can wear peach!
I can wear peach!
Okay, I am having a Very Lazy Day after all the craziness this week, so I haven't played with the medium coverage foundation yet, but Peach actually works on me! Possibly because it's summer, because it does look a tad brighter than my normal ebony/white mix - that's 16 white/1 ebony/1/4 (one-fourth of a scoop) warm gold. Peach is 13 white/1 peach, and may be tweaked further.
I was quite surprised, but not in a bad way - it actually seems to perk up my skin a bit!

Re: I can wear peach!
Yayyyy! I am glad you like it. I tried it, too, but am still more an Ebony/Warm girl. I can carry it off in the lighter foundation but not so much in the Medium or Heavy.
Did you get a chance to try the heavier formulations? I really like the Medium. I have to clarify that I am generally a light coverage gal like you, but that Medium Coverage makes me look airbrushed. Defeinitely a keeper for special occasions. However, the Original is still my go to.

Re: I can wear peach!
Hi,gals.
I like the medium myself! Now, I grant you, I have more issues to cover than either of you, but I find that a light dry layer of medium is great ~ & then my dark patches get a bit of concealer I made out of the heavier formula applied with a baby buki. Takes me seconds & looks great!

Re: I can wear peach!
I am planning to do up some medium today - I have a little sample bag of the medium white, so not much room for error.
I think I figured out the Peach. If I wear it straight, it's too much, but in the original foundation, adding in just a bit of peach seems to make for a very good 'crappy indoor lighting' foundation. I think the red in the peach helps to offset the grey/green/washout of flourescents (does this make sense to anyone but me?). So I have a small container of regular foundation with a bit of peach thrown in for when I have to go to those places. It doesn't look horrible in outdoor light, but it is a little ruddy.
I don't know, Mikie - my skin has a few 'issues' I'd rather not show the world either - thing is, most foundations are too heavy on me so they look really maskey - that may be because I'm pale - I'm not sure. And the heavier the foundation goes, the less forgiving it is on the colour match, so we shall see. I think I'm going to stick to ebony with just a touch of warm gold for this one, and if it works, I'll order a f/s of the white base in medium.

Ohhhhh Mikie!
Good call on the making a concealer. I know a few other girls have mentioned it, too. I guess I will be doing that this week sometime. I think the makeup gurus suggest that your concealer be a shade lighter than your foundation. How did you mix yours?

Re: I can wear peach!
Actually, Jen, I went lighter & more yellow-golden since my dark splotches are an angry red-brown. They are really splotches, lol, as opposed to dainty lil spots that need to be covered. I have zero patience for a concealer step so whisking a touch on with a baby buki is fast & easy & my final step. Blends right in!
Rhys, maskiness is not my style,ROFL! I suspect that the reason I don't run into that problem is because of the proportions I use...I use much more pigment in relation to base than the rest of you, so likely my resulting formula is a different coverage level if I go with the theory more base=more coverage. Well, that's how my brain is functioning just before 4 AM, LOL! Always full of theories...
I'll have to try a bit of peach in my next batch ~ I *do* spend at least 10 hrs in the office w/fluorescent ghastliness. Who knows!

Re: I can wear peach!
I think you're right that more base = more coverage. I had to use more pgiment with the medium foundation base - almost all ebony though, and just a hint of warm gold.
But I really do like the coverage. It may not work in winter when I dry out really badly but for now I'm quite happy with it - it does seem to get rid of my imperfections except for that truly awful under eye circle and bag under my right eye. I don't know if it's because I sleep on that side or what. The left one isn't near as bad, but the right one looks like somebody gave me a shiner. Aarrggh. And I have to be careful with concealer under my eyes because it will cake, no matter.
I've got some Almay liquid under eye concealer, I may go so far as to try that. And I did stock up on Sarafina's Green Tea Eye Gel during the last sale - they seem to have disappeared now. I mostly use GoW, but I love the Green Tea Eye Gel - and I probably have another eight or ten months worth. It helps, but that right eye circle is so bad...

Re: I can wear peach!
I Love the medium coverage . I too have a few imperfections that I would rather not show the world. But what I'm liking the most is that I'm using less foundation because they medium only requires 1 coat, while the light requried 2 to get the coverage I want. Haven't tried to make concelor yet, I generally just brush on extra foundation on those troublesome spots, and haven't found anything (even cream concelors) that work under my eyes. Although, I keep hoping that Karen will come up with one some day soon.
I like the Peach , I usually wear warm gold, and ebony is to pink for me, but I can get by with Peach and have it match really pretty well, may have to tweak a bit, but it is definately a possibilty.

Re: I can wear peach!
Hollis ~ I find I'm using less also ~ & I apply it dry now & it's fine. I've been whisking on a layer of Perfecting Powder 1st....YOY, I just had a thought,lol
....since the Perfecting Powder has diffusing ingredients, I *could* be using the TemptTryst instead, in the same way....*maybe*...perhaps the yellow/golden tone will offset some of my "issues"(red/brown) before I even *begin* applying my makeup? Hmmmm, will bounce that around in my mind & have to GET some TemptTryst.
Rhys ~ Flip over, hehe.
Seriously, I know what you mean!
