Foundation?

Post by Purple Daisies » Mon Apr 12, 2010 5:46 pm

I was wondering about mixing, I don;t want to mix and am scared that I'll make a mess and waste most of the foundation. how do you guys do it? I am thinking of trying SN b/c I have heard great things about the foundation but like I said I'd rather not mic but I would like a great foundation that is good for my skin. Thanks :)

If you would rather not mix, then I'm not sure exactly what to suggest, since you have to mix the SN foundation. Maybe try the finishing powders, they are lovely and will give you some color and some sheer coverage.
If making a mess is your only concern then I will add that I didn't find the mixing all that messy since you close the jar and then shake it up, all the product stays inside the jar.
Maybe others will have more tips for you, good luck!

You could try putting your ivory and base colors into a zipper baggie and shaking it to mix. Then just snip off a corner of the bag and tip it into your empty container. The bag will act like a funnel and this should pretty much eliminate any potential mess. As far as not having to mix at all, I'm afraid your only other options would be to try just the finishing powders or bronzers, as Oxana mentioned. Good Luck!

I haven't found the foundation mixing to be a messy process. I just scoop the product into the jar, close the lid and shake. No fuss, no muss, no bother, and I have the perfect shade of foundation in a product that feels great on my skin! :D

I mixed up my first full batch yesterday, I just emptied the ivory base into a larger baggie, added the appropriate amount of olive, sealed the bag and shook, and then snipped off a bottom corner and funneled it into the jar. Not really messy, and I did it on the kitchen counter anyway, so it didn't matter if I spilled a bit.

You should try out the blurs and perfecting powders. I haven't worn foundation since discovering Date Bait. :)

Yes, but Feyith, you have perfect skin anyway, the rest of us need some help! :D

I agree w/ Feyith, I just use either the orginal Perfecting Powder or Tympt Tryst (bit more glow), they some how give sheer coverage and realy blur your pores and fine lines. You can mix types/colors as needed. I've never tried the blurs, but I love the perfecting glows. I often do a very natural look w/ Date Bait (too pink for my face...perfecting powder) or Splendid (perfecting glow) on my eyes and Splendid as a highlighter on my cheeks.
I use my standby drugstore coverup as needed and it looks great. I have hyperpigmentaion from hormones and I would need a ton of makeup in a way too dark color to actually cover it. The Perfecting Powders down plays it and really gives you the skin you dream of. It is so easy and the samples are about $1 and last awhile.
I have very stange coloring and leave most people at a loss for what direction to go in and I have no problems w/ these working.

That was what I was thinking, too. :)

I will use the perfecting powders and blurs without foundation on the weekend, when I am not going anywhere besides the grocery store.
