manual exfo and super serum

Post by egerandi » Thu Mar 25, 2010 4:45 pm

I have two words for you: RED FACE!

Ouch. I thought I remembered that you couldn't use Super Serum after acids, but I certainly shouldn't have tested my memory in the morning routine.
I exfoliated with a mix of jojoba beads and diamond dust, then shortly after I applied the serum. Darn. Aaarrghhhh. Crap, I'm gonna be late for work....

I sprayed with water to calm it down, patted the lovely luxury powder over it, took an ibuprofen and tried to cover it up with Unblush.

I then just went ahead with the rest of my make-up and hoped that by time time I get to work, it will calm down. It did, but sure taught me a lesson :/

I think I must be a weirdo, but I have exfoliated with microdermabrasian cream (not SN, but similar) reasonably heavily and applied super serum right afterwards... I think my skin must be tougher than I think!
I'm glad yours calmed down before work!

eek! i've had that red face- glad it calmed down, mine looked like mild sunburn for a couple of days afterwards.

Days! I got out of this easy! I did something similar the other day, layered some new stuff I was testing on top of SS, and my face was burning for an hour. I had to start working from home (luckily, I can do that) and head in when I no longer looked like a lobster.

Come to think of it, this hasn't really happened to me before: I have exfoliated manually in the shower in the morning then applied SS in my routine with no problem. I can usually withstand 10% AHA stuff too (still can), my skin is pretty tough. I did change my diet recently, so perhaps my skin is getting more sensitive? Dunno, I'll just be more careful and skip the exfos in the morning.
