New Year's Eve Makeup Poll!

Post by ezzyb » Thu Dec 31, 2009 12:27 pm

Hey ladies,

What combos are you wearing for NYE?

My husband and I throw a massive NYE party every year, and I want an awesome look. I am wearing a black ruffly top with a matte gold bolero, black pants, black sparkly jewelry. Looking at a goldish/blackish smokey eye with a sparkly gloss....

I have one word for you: Eclipse!

Layer a dark base on your lids, and just put Eclipse right on it, and it will give you the black/gold that you're looking for. I use Sonic to highlight, but you can go with anything that has a bit of gold in it, even a glow. Not exactly smokey, but I think it would look fab with your outfit.

For the lips, Gleaming would be a perfect understated antidote: it's gold, it sparkles, but it's not over-the-top.

Now, if you'd rather have some more color on your eyes, try any of the combination of the new gold shadows with eclipse or any other black as the liner. I'm thinking Sonic/Solar/Orbit, it just depends on what you have and what your skin tone is.

I'm keeping it simple...Slate and some sort of highlight- maybe Sprite or Vanilla- we're just staying at home with my mother and the dogs. Your party sounds like much more fun!

Eclipse is just the right color for your look- but black and gold are such staples you can really mix it up if you don't have it!

I am still trying to figure out a way to fit every single one of the colors that I got in my package yesterday! :lol:

Come on, somebody knows how to make a look out of:
* Emerald
* Velvet
* Pop
* Planetary
* Verde

(Jean Queen is kinda like a mix of Pop and Planetary so I don't need to fit that one in.) ;)

I also got Carnation and Daydream.

I wish I would have ordered Eclipse! I only have a few of the SN shadows, so I think I might resort to EDM's Volcano Blossom. I bought the NYX shadow pencil thing in Black Bean, I was going to use that as my base with a greenish type over it. Have you used that egerandi?

Karen, if you were in Texas, you'd have a permanent invitation to the NYE party. I am taking a break now after cleaning (with the "help" of my husband), and its back to chopping citrus for cocktails!

Feyith, when I was a kid, I got in trouble in art class because I tried to sue every color in the crayon box on each picture. Imagine my art teacher having to tell me that trees aren't blue, and cows don't come in pink. :) I am the worst about ordering colors that never go together. I am one of those people who can't handle too many options. Coordinated colors, like palettes, are much more my speed.

I was just about to post this in the eotd thread. This is what I am wearing today. I am not going out tonight. We did just get back from the movies. I have lovely samples thanks to Xarata I know I will need these in full size. I am wearing wink wink on the lid nudge nudge in the crease, brown sugar for liner and edm wet sand to highlight.

I hope you all have a wonderful time tonight.

Well, I didn't go out last night (it is evening of the 1st here) but today I am wearing... whoops, nothing Silk Naturals! I am wearing a slightly bluish silvery grey on the lid, a purple with turquoise shimmer in the crease and as liner, and a neutral shimmery highlight. It is not my best look ever, as blues just don't work for me and the silver turned out with more of a bluish tint than I thought.
I want to post EOTD looks, but I am almost always wearing at least one colour that is not SN :( I guess I will have to wait until I grow my collection a bit more :lol:

I wore all black/grey so I did a bright, fun eye. Rebel to line, Goldie Gold on the inner half, Bargain Pink on the outer half. Really easy and very pretty.

I've been posting ones that don't have all sn products. I think it is nice to be wearing at least one or two sn products though. I'd love to see your looks.
