I finally got out to see it today. I absolutely loved it. Agree on ZQ. He was the perfect Spock. I also had fun watching the others. I have been a fan of Karl Urban (Bones) for many years and was amazed it was even Karl. I also relized that Scotty was Shaun from 'Shaun of the Dead'.....loved this one, kind of a quirky zombie movie. And Uhura was in the first Pirates movie, and Kirk was the hunk in Princess Diaries 2. Wow!
I cannot wait for another....and to own this one on DVD.

Royalgoddessbeth, you're right about that drooling... I haven't been crushing this bad on anyone for a looong time, but ZQ, oh boy oh boy. I was even considering buying that b&w artsy pic of him to put it on my wall. Not sure how well that would fly with the BF

But yeah, the movie was even better the second time around, and I'm pretty sure I'm going back for more. The last movie that drew me in this much was the first James Bond with Pierce Brosnan that was released in the late 90s, saw it 4 times. It's hard to make an impression on me (huuuuge cynic, at your service), but if I like something, I'm full on

ok, girls, you've sold me. I've NEVER seen an original ST episode,sorta got into TNG. Loved Jean Luc Picard and his iconic *Make it so.*
I think DH and I will get a babysitter and go this Friday night.
I ran away from home yesterday and went and saw *Ghosts of Girlfriends Past* w/ Matthew McCounnaghay(sp?) He doesn't even have to act well. He can just stand there and look purdy; and boy, does he!
Mmm, mmm, mmm! Poor Man, it must be so hard for him to always be so sexually objectifyed. LOL.

Well, DH and I saw Star Treki Friday night! WOW! Hell of a good flick. I was worried if you hadn't really watched the original series that you'd be a little lost; but that so wasn't the case. The movie just reeels you in and sucks you up and we so enjoyed it!
12 thumbs up!

OMG! Continuing the hijack of this thread - finally saw the Star Trek movie yesterday.
WOW is all I have to say. Loved it, loved it, loved it. I could've sat back down immediately and watched it again. I am halfway considering going to see it again today.

I am only halfway familiar with the original Star Trek but it didn't matter. I checked the online reviews quickly before we went to make sure it would be okay for DD and nothing completely inappropriate. She loves TNG so I figured she would be okay. She loved it as well. Talk about being on the edge of your seat for 2 hours. I can only assume the people in front of us had seen it before because they weren't reacting to anything and we were totally about jumping out of our seats! Husband loved it too. I know there were at least a few times I kind of halfway yelled stuff out. Like when Scottie said he was likely going to beam them into the cargo bay and I think I yelled out, "OMG, they're right on the bridge!" LOL!!
A+++++ from me!
ETA - between Adam Lambert, the Idol finale, and now this Star Trek movie it needs to be said that I am WAY too caught up in pop culture this week!

I've pretty much decided I'm going again next weekend.
I hope it is still showing here by then.

It's got to be one of the best movies I've ever seen.
