I agree with the recommendation for the ultimate eyeshadow brush. I also like the new concealer brush for doing "all-over" eye color as well as concealing. Since purchasing my synthetic brushes I've thrown away or given away all the ones with natural hair. They feel rough and scratchy compared to synthetic, made my skin feel like it had been scrubbed. Baby Bukis are terrific for keeping in your purse for touchups. Compact, yet good coverage. If Karen still has them, the synthetic travel brush kit is a steal! I've purchased several - one for myself and a couple for gifts. My DIL-T-B just added a full-size buki to the travel kit and she's all set for brushes. Watch out for the ebay "introductory kit with brushes" deals. The brushes are typically very coarse. It's definitely worth it to invest in the good brushes from the start. Karen's prices are the best I've found for the synthetic ones. Plus you earn points toward free stuff! Isn't mmu fun? It's my new sin to replace hot fudge sundaes!

JenW wrote:I have a synthetic brushes from a few lines. They all work fine, but I do prefer my synthetic flat top I got from Karen. The bristles are a little shorter and less floppy than other synthetic flat tops I have tried, and it seems a little denser. I will let you know on the flat top kabuki when I get it. Also, I second Xarata's rec for the Ultimate Eyeshadow brush.

Is the longer handled flat top brush the one you have now? ... And you are waiting for the short flat top kabuki style brush (14.95) that Karen shows in her video?
I think I would prefer the kabuki style flat top, if that is the one you are getting, could you post a review of that brush and compare it to the other brushes?

Starlight-
They are both from Karen, so I will definitely let you know. The longer handled one is the one I have now that is my favorite, and the flat top kabuki should be in the mail.

I'm sure the one Karen sells is excellent (that's the one I'm planning to buy because it's very reasonably priced).
Other really good brushes are Prescriptives and Sephora's professional line. Both make a flat-top mineral application brush. The Sephora is denser than the Prescriptives. Both of those are $35 though and Karen's is around $20, so I'm going to buy the SN brush.

On the brush topic- i ordered a foiling brush with the sale. I HAVE a brush i use for foiling but i only recently started getting into foiling (luckily i haven't found it difficult or i'm sure i would never do it. lol) and i feel that I NEED another. lol

You gals are SO bad, making ME tempted to buy yet more brushes, LOLOL! I have way more than any sane (kinda!) person needs.
Baby bukis are *perfect* for me for concealing. My sundamage is primarily along jawline, so after I've applied foundation, it takes just a second to baby-buki on a bit of concealer there!

I am reporting back on the Flat Top Kabuki.
First of all, I need to preface with the fact that the regular Flat Top sold by Karen has been my favorite foundation brush for some time now. However, I have a smallish daily case for my everyday makeup (because I have a huge color kit to switch things out of! Maybe I will take pics one day!). The long handle of the Flat Top really doesn't fit in my little case. (For my daily makeup, I use a Vera Bradley Jewelry Case. It is quilted and fits in my drawer easily, and I just have to 'grab and go' for travel.) The Flat Top Kabuki is the same brush as the longer handled one, but
without the handle. It fits in my case perfectly. I love it and now wonder how I got along without it!
