You're welcome :) I like Bloom, and if Soft works for you, you should give Bloom a try too. Ann seems to like it too, hehe: http://www.silknaturals.com/forum/viewt ... ?f=4&t=984

Star Trek FOTD inspired by Bloom!

Post by Kahani » Tue May 26, 2009 6:46 am

I'm trying to feature more SN on my blog of late. I love it, and don't give a hoot if anyone accuses me of being in Karen's pay. I'm not. I just love her stuff thaaaat much.

Anyways, I did a look based on the latest Star Trek movie's take on the 50's makeup look. And it was made possible by Bloom. And lots and lots of black eyeliner. Lots! can't wait to hear what you girls think.

LOVE the look! You should wear your hair like that more often too, methinks :D
But yeah, I like Bloom when I do darker eyes and the eye liner piling up seems like the perfect match. Kudos!

Hey Kahani,

I absolutely love BLOOM, if it will turn up similar on my lips that would be a dream color. I was wondering about Very Berry, and often hesitated because it is described as such a cool color, and having tried cool pinks, i know they don't suit me. Can you compare Bloom to Very Berry or to Peace? i love Peace, even if it is a bit too light for my olive skin. On me Peace looks like a natural pink, not warm, not cool. Very Berry is descriobed as cool whereas Bloom isn't, I thought it was described as warm even? My lips are naturally a palish but pigmented brownich pink color. They really have no color to them and look too cool so I should always wear some lippie.

Hi Shirin,

Ooh this is a hard one for me. Very Berry is indeed a very cool shade, but the deeper raspberry undertones really suit me. Bloom is lighter in shade, but it does have peachy undertones. When swatched side by side, Very Berry is cooler.

I think the best I can say is that Bloom is a light pink with neutral undertones. It is on the cooler end of the neutral spectrum, but isn't totally cool. It doesn't suit me as well as Caucasian ladies because it's too light but I believe it will look truly lovely on fairer women. Soft is my HG pink (which is why I begged Karen for it), and it too has neutral undertones. Bloom is described as a lighter version of Soft. =)

Very Berry is unashamedly cool. Think Cosmic and Tart blushes if they were reincarnated as a lipgloss. BUT as with all Karen glosses, she has some brown (?) undertones that keep it from turning purple or looking unnatural.

I thought I'd already filled my basket to the brim. Your comment on Soft made me go back and toss that one in at the last minute! kahani, you're such an enabler :D

LOL pinkpomelo you won't regret it! I really loved it so much I was thrilled when Karen duped it. There's a review / comparison on my blog between the original colour and the dupe. I still get endless compliments on it and I have one with me all the time.

Me too, am going to get Soft. Peace is my favourite until now, and I think soft looks similar, a bit darker and slightly pinkier, so should do. I am afarid anything coller than peace will be too cool for me! As my lips are already cool peace turns on a cool pink on me, which i love, but anything cooler will turn on too cool on me. I couldn't find your pic of soft at your blog though. But i think i saw it last time, it looked very warm pink on you, but i guess that is because your lips are warmer pigmented than mine.

I thought since everyone seem to really like Tailfeather that I would post a pic using it. In the pics below I used Burnished from lashline to just below crease, the Tailfeather from the crease up and Cozy as a liner...kind of a my take on a Smokey Eye look. I am also wearing Lady blush and Centerfold lippie.
