I just have to say that in order to tint it with foundation color, you have to use a LOT of scoops. I'm extremely fair....I use one scoop of Olive for nearly 1/2 tsp of foundation. It also has some coverage in spite of it being micronized. I barely needed any foundation at all after dusting on the barest hint.

Laurie thank you so much for the idea of using the zinc powder as a primer it really is wonderful under foundation, and it's calming my freaky skin. It gives me slight coverage, but not in a Casper way, just in an evening my patches out way! Full size, methinks!

I have a sample of the zinc finishing powder and have yet to use it. I do use red raspberry oil that I get from my neighbor(Mineral Basics) I have a tendency to freckle and this helps a bunch, I love being outdoors so I need to use something. I have sensitive skin and drugstore sunscreens do ugly things to me. I am anxiously awaiting the moisturizer Karen is whipping up with red raspberry!! I think I will try the powder this weekend as I will spending a lot of time whipping my yard into shape.

I've only just gotten around to trying this (has been an unusually busy and tough fortnight, all fine now). I applied this Zinc as a primer and it does, at first, seem a little more difficult to spread around evenly. However, it only takes a light application and gentle fluff around to apply beautifully. Once I'd applied my foundation over the top, the effect looked better than ever. It makes the foundation wear even better and still without looking obvious. I love how the SN foundation looks and feels natural, but this added some extra coverage but without all the downside associated to 'coverage'. Still feels light as air, still looks like healthy skin and not makeup.

I was mixing up some foundation, got it wrong and made it too dark. In momentary panic, all I had to whiten it was the sample bags (2) of Sheer Zinc. I'd used a f/s medium foundation and added 6 buttery instead of 3 (as I usually mix by the sample bag size). I added in the usual trimmings - 2 scoops each Date Bait and Tempt Tryst and about 6 scoops of Untinted Blur. I don't know why, but when I added those trimmings one day while bored, it perfected my colour match so I've stuck with it.

Well... adding the Sheer Zinc into the mix and giving it a very thorough shake to blend - it's *amazing*. It gives a dewy, almost creamy feel. Fractionally heavier coverage than plain medium ivory but absolutely not cakey at all. It almost looks better, kind of air-brushed. I didn't know if adding it in would adversely affect the foundation, but as it was feared ruined anyway as it was too dark and I don't have spare Ivory to lighten it, adding zinc couldn't make it worse. Well - it made it so much better. It did lighten the colour down slightly. Two sample bags lightened a f/s medium ivory with 6 BG to the equivalent of about 4 BG. Near enough. I wish I could describe the texture, though, with all that mixed in together. It was sooo soft and creamy and looked dewy on my skin. Well worth experimenting with. I'll be doing this as a regular addition to my foundation now.

Just wondering where's the sample for the zinc oxide? =) Can't find it in any of the usual places.

Yesterday morning I had an appointment with with my chiropractor, and as I was *making myself up* I skipped a couple steps, as I knew I'd mostly be facedown on the table.
One thing I skipped was my Zinc Finishing Powder. I used my regular SN foundie mix and my regular finishing powder mix. I noticed right away that I just didn't look as *polished* as I normally do. That sucked, but, you know, I could deal with it for a day.
So I went on with my day......
OMG, did I get the oilies on my forehead, chin and nose! By 2pm, I was shiny, shiny, shiny!
On a normal day, when I use my trusty Zinc Finishing Powder as my primer, no matter how hot and sticky it gets, I still look cool and crisp with no oilies!
Lesson learned! This is a total and absolute HG product for me that I can never be without. It means the difference between before and after.
It's just amazing to me that the most modest of products make the most difference,

VIVA LA ZINC!!!!
