Progression of "The Habit"

I immersed myself in Step 10 today. I went to church armed with the extra bottles of sample oil control serums, the full sized Facelift & Aloe Vera serums. I passed them all out and at the end of the day, I had one lady asking me if I was venturing into Skin Care production. I had to explain that I was just very happy with this brand, but I'm NOT the maker of it.

Then when my bag was empty, I felt this urge to log on to the SN website and fill up my shopping cart again! Help!!!

what are your favorites out of your stash Sam?! Do you use the same things a lot, or something different every day?
We are supposed to be going on vacation at the end of June. Husband has already given me the lecture about "not overpacking." I am really going to have to keep it light as far as makeup and other products. The vacation is unless husband ends up having to have surgery (and even then he says he is still going on vacation, which is arguable.) I am hoping he doesn't have to have surgery - he had some tests done yesterday, so he should find out next week, I think.

August 23rd. Time flies! Well I can never go wrong with some good neutrals (I recently posted my pressed palette with my go-to eye and fav. blush for easy traveling- my go to lippies would probably be gold blush and berry crush) but it really depends on the day. i can't wear green or blue to work but when i'm not at work, i'll often just grab colors off the board in varying depths of a color. i love high beam with breathe and teal appeal and just recently ventured into the smokey blue quad. My sentiment for traveling is to keep it mistake proof because it's vacation and nobody wants to fix their makeup all the time on vacation. My pressed palette has vanilla and quartzite and those two can pretty much go with anything. I have bittersweet to line in there but you could also toss any extra color in the bag and it would still go with the other two.

I think I'm especially guilty of Step 11. Retail therapy works like a charm- and i love getting mail. lol

I just went to the mall today (DH was out of town today and authorized the purchase of a few girly items) and man, I was thinking the SAME thing... "Remember when I could spend as much as I wanted at the mall, and then just eat ramen noodles all week to make up for it?"... okay, so it's probably good that I can't do that anymore

This has been so bad for my addiction!
BF was clearing out his closet, and he mentioned he was mad he has to give away brand new jeans that will never fit. Asking the obvious question, why would he buy jeans that don't fit, he said he just buys them and then forgets and they just end up unused in the closet. I asked him why would he buy clothes he does not intend to wear, and he just said "Well, isn't that what you do with your piles of makeup?"

Oh well... He's on to me! But as it is *my* disposable income, he does not really have a say in it. And he gets fancy remote controlled cars that are probably worth as much as my stash.

It's not that difficult to put together a holiday kit, really. First, get thee a few five and ten gram size jars with sifters. Second - save your samples, especially the baggie ones.

I'm lucky that I've got the little brush set that fits in your hand, pretty close to right in your palm (six brushes, enough to cover everything you need on holiday, and they come in a little soft vinyl snap-shut case). Maybe Karen could be persuaded to sell those again....?

Anyway, there's that, and it packs up by itself, and only takes a few inches. Inside the small makeup bag - and it is small - a ten gram jar of foundation. A ten gram jar of Perfecting Powder. A ten gram jar of Datebait. Those are my essentials, your powders may vary, but you really only need foundation and one or two PPs.

Pink Twink and Elle for eye shadows - GWPs are smaller than regular E/S's, and you can use either of those ones as a one-colour wash, or create a nice look with them together. Sample baggies I got of Cougar and Wildcat - I love those two, and Wildcat also makes a great liner colour - plus they're a great combo for evening wear. I cheated and put in Velvet as a second liner/contour colour. But you can use Cougar and Wildcat alone, and sample baggie size is great - we must convince Karen to have another sale on E/S samples, along with the mini-brush sets

Samples of Flirt and Tart Light, my go-with-anything blushes. A sample of Beach Bunny for bronzer. A sample of Crystal Perfecting Glow for highlighting. A mascara. Four lippies - choose your own! Mine are Cherry Crush (red, and can be layered), Ice Princess (my perfect pink, and can be layered), Beloved (looks good with everything on me), and Rare Berry, which is another knock-out colour for me, but it doesn't look obvious - unless I rev it up with Cherry Crush.

So, 3 ten gram jars, 5 five gram jars, 2 three gram jars, 2 tiny plastic baggies, 4 lippies, a mascara, some cotton balls (great for touching up blush or powder when you're out), a few cotton rounds, some q-tips (they sell 30-packs that are really tiny), and a couple of squares of microfibre cloth, about 2x3 inches to wipe off the brushes between applications (you could put those in the pocket of the brush case. And if you wanted, you could throw in a sample size concealer, or brow powder, or both.

It sounds like a lot, but it really takes up next to no space - the makeup bag is about five inches by three inches, just a cheapie I picked up at a chemist shop. Depending on how much makeup you use, it should last you a month or six weeks on holiday.
