Hard to match?

Post by Elise » Fri Apr 17, 2009 4:27 pm

I am having a hard time finding a match! I have the samples (except for olive, which wasn't available when I ordered). Any suggestions? I ordered the medium coverage (I found the heavy to be chalky and settled into my "smile lines"). I want something that will work when I am pale or tan. Shade wise, I usually wear CoverGirl Clean mu in buff beige -or Mary Kay Beige 300- when I am tan-ish and CoverGirl classic ivory when I am pale. When I was really tan, I wore Neutrogena Healthy Skin liquid in Honey Beige. I also have a hard time finding blush. I have freckles that appear anytime I am in the sun (even wearing spf 30+), and it seems like wearing blush makes my face look off somehow- dirty maybe? Thanks in advance!!! Here are a few pictures.

Wow! You're pretty- and you have fantastic eyebrows! I can't get over how much your skin tone changes by the season. I know that Jen usually ends-up using different undertone bases depending on the time of year...winter she's almost all ebony, and in the summer she switches up to warm gold, or olive.

For your most pale you look about like a basic ebony- with maybe a little bit of warm gold. For the tanner months- warm gold, and olive.

For blush- go bright! I think Babydoll would look lovely on you at your palest, for the summer maybe some Lovelace. You'll never look muddy in either of those. Oooh and Tart Light would be a good one to sample.

Karen gave good advice. I think the blushes she recommended will be great for you.

I also agree that you will be more Ebony in your pale phase and more Olive or Warm Gold in your tan phase. I am very similar to you. I think I will be able to get by with Olive most of the year (it is a recent addition to our line). At your lightest, in Olive probably 1:12 (or even a little more Ivory). In Ebony 1:9. Warm Gold is about in between. Then as you tan you will just need to add a little more color.

Thank-you both so much! I will place an order for the Olive! When I tried the Ebony, it was way to pink.
