EDM beige medium beige was the closest I could get with EM, but it was a tad too dark and a tad too pink. What would be a good mix for me? And is the mix different for original coverage vs. medium or heavy coverage?

EDM Beige medium beige = what in silk natirals?
Re: EDM Beige medium beige = what in silk natirals?
Oh boy. Okay, once upon a time I spent months trying to find an EDM shade that suited me. I finally did (one of the fairly lights, don't remember which), and then they kept the name and made the foundation warm instead of cool. The beige was kind of green on me. So I'll assume they've switched the formulas again.
If we could see a picture of you in natural light without makeup on, it would help a lot. If you're cool-toned (neutral to pink undertones), ebony works, if you have gold undertones then warm gold, for stronger yellow than gold, buttery gold, for olive - olive. And there's peach, too. SN tends to be true to tone. You can mix and match the bases if you need but it's unlikely you'll need to.
The original formula is my personal fave - very sheer, just kind of evens out your skin tone and has just the right finish - neither totally matte nor glowy - it just gives you a radiant look and is what you want if you have good skin. If you'd like a little more coverage, go with the medium. I think we have a few gals who use the heavy as their foundation (it is heavy, it'll cover most anything, and makes a great spot concealer or if you like heavy coverage foundation, that's the one for you).
If we can't see you, can you give us an idea what your skin is like? You get to mix your own foundation, which is neat, because it'll be the right colour, not too dark or too light - we just need to know if you're warm, cool, olive, peachy, or the like to tell you which one to go for.

Re: EDM Beige medium beige = what in silk natirals?
I really should know the answer to this question as I used to use EM medium beige. Hmm.
From what I remember, I roughly use 5 or 6 scoops Ivory (in original coverage): 2 scoops of Buttery Gold: 0.5 - 1 scoop of Warm Gold. You can start off with that mixture first using 0.5 scoops of Warm Gold as EM Medium Beige was too pink for you and slowly adjust it from there. An extra scoop of Ivory will lighten it up if it happens to be too dark. I don't remember what the recipe is in medium coverage but the ratios are definitely different.
Rhys gave a pretty explanation about the coverage so I'll stop for now. Good luck and don't forget to mix everything thoroughly before swiping.

Re: EDM Beige medium beige = what in silk natirals?
Thanks ladies for the reply. I have actually tried a few mineral makeup brands these last few days, and so far I think Lumire's beige -medium is the closest I have come so far. I like their Veena Velvet foundation, but I think it may be irritating my skin by making it feel hot/burning feeling? I also tried the cashmere and same thing- burning feeling? Anyways, with EM, the closest was beige-medium beige, but just a little too dark and pink as I said before. I tried Alima, and the closest with them was beige 3. I liked their formula pretty good, but it seemed to separate on my oily skin a lot. I so want Silk Naturals to work for me this time. I definitely seem to be in the "beige" category, but a golden beige, not pink beige. I should be getting my harmony sample kit any day and so wondering, what I should mix. Sorry, I cannot post a picture. I have light brown hair, highlighted blonde, hazel eyes, and medium skin tone. I live in Hawaii, so am kinda light tan all year round.

You have gotten great advice here. My initial idea for a match would be some combo of Ebony and Warm Gold for the color base. The color depth can easily be adjusted to match you. It should be in the 1 scoop color to 5-6 scoops Ivory overall. I would start with 1 Warm:5 Ivory. If it is too yellow try adding 1 Ebony and about 4 Ivory to that mix.
From Original to Medium Coverage to Heavy, you will need less Ivory in your mix to achieve the same color depth. It should be within one to three scoops from Original to Heavy.

Thank you, Jen. That is really helpful, and from what I have seen and read, I was thinking something close to what you said. I soooo hope I like this. I do not want to try any more companys. I just want to settle with one. Aaaaah!
