I'm *not* the slightest bit oily...quite dry...& at the experience level where I need a great finish.

Re: Karen -- re: HD finishing powder
I would like it for the finish. My skin is on the dry side. Thankfully I haven't been oily since I switched to natural skincare.

Danielle: Please, please... you must share with me your natural skincare routine! I'll try just about anything to calm my crazy oil-producing skin down.
Re: Karen -- re: HD finishing powder
Oh, I'm so sorry. I just saw your post now. This is MUCH more complicated than it sounds and if you'd like to PM me or e-mail me for more info, feel free: I use a cleansing oil followed by a gentle cleanser and then rinse with spring water and a bit of vinegar toner. I use various oils a few drops at a time (kukui nut, pomegranate seed, sea buckthorn seed, camellia, argan, watermelon seed) mixed with a few drops of hyaluraunic acid serum applied to a dampened face. I top is all off with a cream to which I added green tea and shea butter and some other active ingredients to help try to combat the aging process.
I have very sensitive and acne-prone skin. I've researched a lot of ingredients and a lot of it is trial and error even now to see what my skin likes. My skin is currently even more reactive because I'm 8 months pregnant.
I've heard it before and never believed it until I tried it, but fighting oil with oil really can work. I've also learned that gentle is better. If I use a cleanser that's too harsh, my skin freaks out. Using oils helped my skin achieve balance so it doesn't overproduce oil because it's too stripped. Oils don't necessarily cause breakouts unless your skin doesn't like them. Good luck, and like I said, feel free to PM me or e-mail me for more info.

Re: Karen -- re: HD finishing powder
Argan is one of my favourite skin oils, since it seems to work for dry, oily, eczema, you name it - and it's great for your hair as well.
I'd be interested in a powder, too, but here's the weird: I love SN foundation - in the winter, the original is the only kind I can wear without having it cake, or show up every single fine line (including ones that aren't there before I put my makeup on).
But when I tried the pure silk powder, it really dried me out. The oil control primer helped to blur a few imperfections and didn't dry me out - I got samples of both of them, because even though my skin is dry, it's weird. So the oil control primer is less drying for me. I know it shouldn't be, but it is.
Can't imagine the formula you'd have to come up with for the HD to make it work for most people, but I'm sure you'll do it, Karen (nothing like a little pressure, huh?)

Rhys - humectants (which I understand the silk to be - perhaps I am wrong?) work differently in humid climates than they do in dry climates. I'm assuming that's why the silk is drying for you.
