Dear Karen,
I'm blitzing through your oil control primers here in humid Malaysia because I love them so. While contemplating the detritus of empty jars, I wondered if you'd consent to selling the primers in refill baggies to save on shipping, cost, and the environment and all that. =D
Please say yes!

I would love for that too! I live in Singapore and any chance to save on shipping and save the planet by recycling would be so wonderful!

Hello pinkpomelo (love that fruit btw! =P ) I hail from M'sia. So shipping & climate wise we're the same... except you're probably more likely to get your post than I am. ; )

Re: Oil Control Primer Refill Baggies
I think it also depends on which company I'm ordering from.
For some reason, my order from Everyday Minerals hasn't come in yet =(
BTW, what's your foundation mix?
I tried everything...
1 Ebony :1 Warm Gold : 7 Heavy Ivory (a little too whitish looking)
2 E : 1 WG : 7 HI (friends commented "too dark")
2 E : 1 WG : 8 HI (too whitish again!)
2 E : 2 WG : 8 HI (friends said it look "ok" but under fluorescent lights... then again, nothing looks good under fluorescent lights, right?)
I'm not sure if I should stick with it... actually, I'm not sure what is "correct"... I look at myself and think sometimes: hmm, a little too pinkish? I'm such a noob with make up :oops

Re: Oil Control Primer Refill Baggies
Hey girl, my foundation recipe is on the last page of the foundation recipe thread. =) But briefly, 1BG:8HI with 2-3 scoops tempt tryst thrown in (for sparklies) and 2-3 scoops of tinted oil primer (to make it less yellow and for OC) per pot of foundation.
The girls there can help you find yours. I gotta be honest and say it took me awhile to figure mine out because the foundation also changes slightly as it "settles". Just keep tweaking! If it's still a wee bit too pinkish how about 2Eb:1WG:1BG:8HI? And try adding some tempt tryst. On it's own it's a bit shiny but added to foundation it seems to help it appear smoother, and I think, more light-adaptive.

You probably really need to try 1Ebony:1WG:5 Heavy Ivorypinkpomelo wrote: A...1 Ebony :1 Warm Gold : 7 Heavy Ivory (a little too whitish looking)
B...2 E : 1 WG : 7 HI (friends commented "too dark")

D...2 E : 2 WG : 8 HI (friends said it look "ok" but under fluorescent lights... then again, nothing looks good under fluorescent lights, right?)
Adding more color base significantly alters the color level, while adding Ivory in your case should only slightly change it. I am surprised 'D' is not darker on you than 'B', because it should be. There is quite a bit more color in there as WG is more concentrated color than Ebony. Also, for 'C', it should be only very slightly lighter than 'B'. I know whitish tends to mean too light, but are you sure it is well mixed, and are you judging the color after it has been on your skin for a bit? Also, I assume you are testing as you are going along.....that does alter the volumes a little if you are trying to adjust the same batch of sample. Also, Kahani's suggestion of adding other things in is good. The Oil Control and Tempt Tryst might lighten the coverage a little, but if they are added in small amounts, they might work for you.

Re: Oil Control Primer Refill Baggies
Hey Jen, thanks so much for all your advice! Its so invaluable.
Yes, I have been adding and mixing from the same initial mix. So I think the formulation has gone a tad wonky. I should really start all over again. I'll use up whatever I've done so far since its "ok", and try again to see if I can formulate something more perfect. =) I really love the texture of SN and I am determined to make it work for me
