Ebony & Ebony VF - same or different thing?

Post by pipari » Sat Jan 17, 2015 6:14 am

I noticed now that making a batch of foundation I've used a bag that says 'Ebony VF' and compared to plain Ebony it is noticeably redder. Is it supposed to be a different shade? You know you have multible bags of different shades in your stash after several orders and just grab a bag that states 'Ebony' when making a new mix. I have no idea when I have ordered the VF version :)

And does a combination Ebony(VF) and Olive work together, reducing then redness in foundation?

We used to have duplicate Ebony bases at one time (both original and vf), but went to just having a vegan formula for the color bases. They are essentially the same.

You say it is redder......it is also possible that it is just a little more intense in color and will just need more white.

If you want to use up what you have, what about green booster? It will be even more effective in reducing redness than trying to patch it together with Olive as you will have total control on how much green. (You may want to switch to Olive eventually! ;) )

Jen, I tried the booster but the shaking is difficult. I ended up with green spots on kabuki. Then my face..
The Olive is quite there, ideal is between Olive and Ebony.
I'm waiting to have new bag of All Purpose to try with Olive.

When I put the both Ebony bags side by side the colour is different. Maybe it's more intense then.
