Birthday Suit doesn't work for me, suggestions?

Hi all, I know that Birthday Suit is a much beloved lippie, but it doesn't really work too well for me. It comes across on my face as kind of a dull brownish shade, not especially flattering.
I'd really like to have a "go-to" YLBB shade and was wondering what other color would do the trick. I have pinkish/peachy light skin (not fair, but not medium either, but with a lot of "color") , green/grey eyes, henna red hair.

Do you have Breathless? I know the gals that think Birthday Suit is too brown for them tend to love Breathless. We all have different lip color, just as our skintones differ. Chances are, you natural lip color is browner than some. Tender would be good, too, if you wanted slightly more shimmer.

Thank you for the reply Jen. I have added Breathless to my wish list (Tender was already on there). BTW, do you know what happened to Beloved? I have that in my wish list as well but it seemed to have disapeared from the site.

Yep, it is out of stock and just needs to be poured. It should be back in a day or so.

YES on Breathless!!! And YAY that Beloved is not far away! 12CatCrazy, I am one on whom Birthday Suit looks dreadful. *Feels* good, LOL, but I look dead or really ill, as on me it's just boring brown. Breathless is my perfect nude look, & I LOVE Beloved,too, as a nice pop. Soft & Tender are fabbo, as is Berry Crush. So many good colors!

if you need a tan shade.. i'm pretty sure the divine demi gloss would suit your YLBB requirement.. or even better modern poet in the lip wand. my favourite is to layer SN's clear below my divine demi gloss.. long lasting nude lips!

I, too, was disappointed with Birthday Suit b/c it looked so perfect on my friend but looked like a chocolate stain on my lips.

Breathless is my absolute favorite everyday color. It looks completely natural, like I'm not wearing any lip gloss, but adds vividness to my lips.

me too alienman! breathless is my lips but better.. its such a pretty pretty shade. absolutely love it!
