I'm confused. From the picture, Sepia looks like a brown shadow, but it's described as a "Neutral". Aren't neutrals variations of gray? Grays and shimmers generally don't work for me.
My eyes are gray-blue-green and deep set. I like a medium-depth matte crease color sandwiched between Bristol or Restless under my brow and on the lid. Terra, Stag, Eu-Taupe-Ia and Mink are my best crease colors. Despite their descriptions, Eu-Taupe-Ia isn't too gray, and Mink doesn't look shimmery.
Any idea if Sepia could work?
Thanks!
Is Sepia a neutral or brown shadow?
Re: Is Sepia a neutral or brown shadow?
Any earthy sort of tone can be a neutral! Think of the Urban Decay Naked palettes - those are famous makeup neutrals.
I know exactly what kind of eyes you have; my brother has them too. I think they're beautiful - I call them "moonlight eyes" because they're like the reflection of moonlight on a pond.
I have become some sort of big grey eyeshadow fan, and I think greys could totally work for you! Especially the slightly blued ones that mirror your eyes - I like Twilight.
However, to answer your question, Sepia is both brown and neutral. It does say it's "reddish," though, and that's what could present the problem if there's any more than a smidgen of red in there - most women have a hard time wearing reddish colors on their eyes because of the potential to look like they've been crying! If you're using it as a crease color it's probably totally safe, though. I encourage you to go for it! The more you play with colors, the more experienced you get and the more comfortable you are wearing them. And if it's just truly awful on you, you can return it for a different one.
No doubt others will chime in! Hope this helps!

Re: Is Sepia a neutral or brown shadow?
I would agree that browns are definitely part of the "neutral" category. Given the shadows that you mentioned liking, I would think the Sepia would be a good choice for you. I haven't seen it, but from the description it seems to be a brown with a hint of warmth to it.

I just received Sepia today, and it is closer to brown than to gray. It also has a hint of purple to it.

Re: Is Sepia a neutral or brown shadow?
Thanks, ladies, I'll give Sepia a try.
Browns really bring out my eyes. I've never found a gray I could wear- they just make me look old. Taupetastic, Idolize, Dove... no go. Danny looks great, but bright colors like Twister, Sizzle, Pop, Wired and shimmers in general don't work for me. I love Karen's mattes because they never look dry and chalky. The right color mattes make me look ten years younger.

I hope it works out for you!
It's funny because I am the complete opposite, I can pull off gray much better than brown, I especially can't pull off warm browns.
