Gold shadow advice?
Gold shadow advice?
I'm wondering if anyone can compare some of the gold shadows or make a recommendation for me? I have and really like Mahalo and Spellbound. They both come off as cooler golds on me, which I really like for some looks but am looking for a little warmer of a gold, but in that same depth-something to wear on the lids. Does anyone know how 4matic, Bond, Caliber, or Mazel Tov compare in tone/depth/finish? Are there any others I might be overlooking? Thanks!
Re: Gold shadow advice?
Most of my fav. golds are GWP shades. Of those available on the site, my favorites are homecoming queen, juiced, and tailfeather
Element- antique gold, very metallic
Bond-true gold. Very metallic
Bling- another fairly true gold shimmer
4matic- lighter more wearable pearlized gold
Tailfeather- gold blended with copper. very wearable. one of my favorite one-color washes.
I noticed that when you pull up golds on the site it doesn't really pull up the gold hilight shades which are actually the ones i wear the most.
Homecoming Queen- one of my favorites. A cream and gold blend
Juiced- An amped up more gold suede version of homecoming queen. another favorite.
Sonic- Similar to sprite.
Sprite- Very shimmery gold hilite. Too sheer to wear on its own

Second love for Homecoming Queen and Tailfeather. I wear Homecoming Queen nearly every day. One of the few shadows I've reordered because I used it all! Juiced is nice, too--Sam's description is spot on. Love Tailfeather as a subtle one color wash, and always have Homecoming Queen on inner corners to brighten up my eyes.

Thanks so much for your input! I have and like Homecoming Queen and Juiced, they're lovely highlighters, but they're very whitish on me-I'm looking for something a little darker. I also have Tailfeather, but remember that one being more brown? I'll have to try that again. Even Papyrus is more of a highlight for me, though closer in tone to what I'm envisioning.
Do you think 4matic is similar in tone to Mahalo (more of an olive-gold?)-I do like that type of color, but have a few and am looking for a more bronzey, caramel or even a rose-gold type color-something a bit warmer. I'd definitely go for a suede/pearl type finish over metallic, if possible!

Re: Gold shadow advice?
i quickly checked through the eye shadow colours on the website, which ones could fit your requirements, and this is my preliminary result:
bronzey/coppery gold tones:
- touring
- meteor
- orbit
- luxe
rosey gold tones:
- cashmere
- loaded
- purrr
- fierce
- frills
others that might work:
- caliber
- bare
- velocity
- honey
- posh
i'm not sure if i have all of them, but of the ones i have, i can swatch them for you side-by-side once i'm back home tonight

Re: Gold shadow advice?
I found a sample of Honey in my makeup box--it is a nice warm gold, not too dark and not too light. It has actually become my new favorite lid color! You might want to check it out.

Flash is a really pretty gold on me, even though it's listed as a neutral highlight.

I have come across O9 be my brightsmaid pigment from essence cosmetics
http://www.essence.eu/index.php?id=2169&L=0
it is gorgeous in real life but full of chemicals.
Is there an SN gold eyeshadow that has silver and/or white pigments too and is fairly or very shimmery/glittery?

Sprite would be the closest I think.
