Jen.. you're cute.. you know where I live but you don't know what race I am. LOL!

I'm chinese too... pretty fair. I use the original formulation as I'm not that keen on heavy coverage! SN makes me look better than natural but still natural. Actually, most people just comment I look very rested and glowing with health. Which suits me just fine.

I agree with Jen. If you've ordered buttery and warm gold then just work with them. Ebony adds a touch of pink... and the only reason why I'm alternating warm and buttery is because I have bags of both that I want to use up. My preference is really Warm Gold even though with my mixture, you can't really tell that much of a difference.

I'd say... Try Jen's suggestion of 1 Buttery to 6 scoops of Ivory then add Ivory to lighten til you get the shade you want. Be sure to shake really really well. You don't want clumps of buttery on your face... from experience... it looks real weird!

you may wanna consider getting some ebony to add a slight flush to the foundation too... if you're like me, I hate looking too yellow. I'm chinese but defnitely not YELLOW! *gets off rant box*

if you're worried about the mixing.. do it in a zippie bag! just squeeze all the dark powder and you'll be fine.

my best is warm gold with 14 scoops of ivory. i'm pretty fair too.

Yes, frond. I never want to assume anything. I will admit that my general knowlege of most Asian cultures is limited. Just like I personally would not want anyone else to label me in any way, I extend the same courtesy to my friends. Now that I am certain you are Chinese because you told me, I can pass that information along in the realm of foundation color matching. I hate that we do have to rely on race in this biz to help people find a good match, but to me that is where it ends. I have found such wonderful people everywhere, and am always eager to learn more about other races, nationalities, and cultures. We are all so much more similar than we are different.

*hugs* Jen... erring on the side of caution is good. And I do see that in foundation matching, race plays a rather big part especially when you're dealing with undertones/overtones and whatever else.
I don't feel like an expert but like to help out where I can and share what I've learnt. :)
