Eye Shadow Primer
Eye Shadow Primer
Hello, I am new to silk naturals and noticed that the stick em primer is mentioned with some of the shadows but can't find it. Is it discontinued or just out of stock?
Thanks, Michelle
Thanks, Michelle

Re: Eye Shadow Primer
I was wondering what to use as an eyelid primer for the colours that are matte or suede. At the moment I'm using a cream concealer from another company as primer but it is running out and it is also flakey, so I won't reorder it.
And a beginners question, I have the Stick 'em primer but I don't seem to be able to blend colours with it, it sort of just glues the glittery eyeshadows on. What am I doing wrong?

Stick 'em works by applying a little (like making a light film on your lid- it shouldn't be gloppy), let it dry just a few seconds so its "tacky" and then apply shadows on top. They stick to it, but they don't get mixed into it. When I use stick 'em, I use it for all of my shadows, not just glittery ones. I usually apply 1 dot of stick 'em to a finger, rub it together with a finger from my other hand and then apply. Sometimes i don't use all of it.
For satin or matte shadows (or lazy days. lol) I usually just use the SN cream concealer stick (which comes in a lipbalm tube- it's a cream not a liquid) on my eyelids. It doesn't last as long as stick 'em, but it does create a nude base color and has some adhesion.

Re: Eye Shadow Primer
Thanks a lot, Xarata! Would the cream eyeliner work the same way? And can you blend the colours with the Stick'em primer? It seems to be similar to a primer of another mineral company and I couldn't figure out how to use it as apart from tapping the colour on nothing worked but if you don't blend the eyeshadows together it just looks horrible.

Yes...I would apply the cream eyeliner or Stick Em first and then apply shadow to it.... then to blend the colors together, I usually use a brush with a light coating of one of the lighter shades I was using. Blending is essential for it to look right.

Re: Eye Shadow Primer
The clear cream liner was designed for mixing (so you could make any liner color you want) and there should be a video on that page. The black cream liner is really fun to prime with and put some of the color-shift (morphing) shadows on top. It can really make some of the fun ones pop.

You can see in the pic where all the morphs were swatched over the black cream liner. I'm quite certain there's primer in the photo and possibly clear cream liner too, but Jen would remember the order better than i do.
