Only slightly warm from what I can see. I can't quite tell if you ill fall in Warm Gold or Olive. For the slightly oily skin, I would still try the Original formula foundation. If you still have a problem with oil, try Oil Control Blur as a primer.
As a guess...Warm gold will be about 1 scoop color to about 7 or 8 white, Olive will be about 1 scoop color to about 11-13 white.
The too orange usually means it is not light enough....too gray is usually too light and often needs yellow.

Yes. If something needs to be adjusted in the color once you try it, we can fix it from there.Alyssa wrote:Thanksso follow the instructions you posted earlier?

Re: Need Foundation Help? Please post here.......
Hi!
I'm completely new to Silk Naturals, though I've been perusing the site recently. I'm interested in trying out foundation and other products and would love some advice. Um, this is a really long post...
Foundation: I would like to get started with something, but am not sure which sample/starter kit to choose. I have combination skin and some rosaceea-like redness on eyelids, cheeks, around the nose, and chin, plus some undereye circles, though my skin is otherwise fairly clear. I've recently been using a not-nice-and-natural corrector cream that makes a magnificent difference in how healthy and young I look, combined with Alima Cool 3 powder foundation. I would rather have a completely natural solution, so this is really a multi-step question.
1) What foundation kit should I start with, and what should I do with it? The Alima Cool 3 gives satisfactory coverage, but I look a lot better with the corrector in several strategic places. I find the colour tone of Cool 3 is perhaps still just a touch too warm on me (my neck and inner arm end up being a bit more pink-toned) and this does not seem to be because I am using a shade too dark, as the Cool 2 is chalky-looking on me. What is the size of the Original/Medium refill for $5.75 on the Foundation Refills page? Also, do you think I might need a pink booster based on my description of the experience with Alima? What does Peach do versus Ebony? My skin does not have an orange undertone.
2) Regarding achieving heavier coverage in certain areas, what would you recommend? Should I first try the Original or Medium base? If I use Original and need to correct certain areas, what Silk Naturals products might achieve that effect? The product I currently use (CoverGirl and Olay Simply Ageless Corrector 230) is shockingly yellow against my complexion, but it works very effectively both in undereye and red areas regardless once I've brushed and patted it to blend and topped it with a light application of the Alima Cool 3. I thought you had no concealer samples but now found them in the concealer section. Does the concealer usually work for people with minor darkness under the eye or is the sleep in a jar better? I'm a bit concerned about layering a lot of products.
Skin Care: I am also interested in your products for skin, particularly in the serum, moisturizer, and anti-aging categories to start. I am in my late 30s and have combination skin that used to be very oily and acneic. My skin is finally clear, unless it is aggravated by products that don't work for me. After washing, I feel some tightness which will disappear even without any products in close to an hour. When I use a serum with some oil content, I often do not need to apply additional moisturizer, though when I am outside, I do want to apply some sun protection. I am starting to feel I need the moisturizer in the winter. I have large pores on the nose and cheeks, and the pores are somewhat clogged at times. As my skin was protected by being oily, I have minimal developing wrinkles, but want to minimize their development due to age now that the skin is drier. I notice some loss in tone. I have autoimmune and somewhat sun-sensitive redness, so antioxidants are great. I have both moderate dark circles under and redness around the eyes. I also have some discolouration - liver/sun/age spots - at the bottom of the orbital (on the cheekbone below the middle of eye) and on the top and sides of my forehead. So, what would you recommend I try? What are your thoughts on BHA and AHA toners for me? I have tried neither. I am sensitive to (eating) oranges but not other citrus, so I'm uncertain of putting the orange Pore product on my skin. Awesome Sauce vs. Facelift serum vs. Super Serum vs. Vitamin C serum? Do some combine use of serums to address multiple concerns? Would you recommend that in my case? What moisturizers should I try? If I try one of these two - is Firming better than Intensive for my moisture requirements or are both likely to be too rich?
Lip Products: I look forward to trying a few of the beautiful-and-good eye and lip products too! Perhaps an easier question: I love the colour of Clinique Tenderheart. What is similar to that of the options here? Tenderheart is a gentle MLBB colour for me (as is Revlon Colourburst Pink Truffle), and I enjoy colours in berries, mauves, and brown-pinks, as well as the occasional brighter pink along the lines of Revlon Colourburst Lollipop. What others would you recommend in the moisturizing and matte or glossy but not intensively sparkly category?
Thank-you very much for your help!
Regards,
Em

I would try Ebony with Pink Booster. Samples will still be your best bet as you are testing the formula as much as you are working on the color. The refill is 1 tablespoon of powder. Peach is red plus yellow. Ebony is neutral on the cool side, so beige. I am unfamiliar with Alima's color lines. Even though they label it cool, it might not really be all that cool-toned. It might be slightly cool toned. From the pics you emailed to me, I would think Ebony1:about 7 White (depending on which formula you choose) plus a little pink booster. I would try without the pink first. I suggest trying the All Purpose Foundation.EmSilkNat wrote: 1) What foundation kit should I start with, and what should I do with it? Concealers are even more variable than foundations. Unfortunately, I think sampling is your best bet. You may decide powder concealers don't work for you under your eyes. WE do have cream versions you might try. Also, if what you have is working for you, you may want to consider sticking with it. Some even mix up a lighter/heavier coverage shade of their foundation for concealer.EmSilkNat wrote: 2) Regarding achieving heavier coverage in certain areas, what would you recommend? Re: Need Foundation Help? Please post here.......
First of all, I don't recommend changing too many things at once. If foundation is your target for now, test that for several weeks before changing your skincare routine. If you have a cleanser you like, I would start with a serum. Again, they are all good serums and would work for what you are targeting, but chances are, they will not all agree with your skin. Try Super Serum first as it is usually the most potent, but again, because it is the most potent, proceed with caution. We have as many that cannot use the product as those that absolutely love it. Then, I would try Awesome Sauce. For general hydration, you might want to consider the Oatmeal or Green Tea & Aloe Serum. I think the Firming Moisturizer would be plenty, but you may need the richer oils in the Intensive for winter. It may be that you just need a simple moisturizer with your more complex serum. I really can't predict how your skin will respond to any of the products. Please sample and add things in slowly.EmSilkNat wrote: Skin Care: I am also interested in your products for skin, particularly in the serum, moisturizer, and anti-aging categories to start. Birthday Suit is very close to Tenderheart. Nectar is just a little redder. Sweet Nothing a little mauver. None of these have any shimmer. For more berry tone, try Berry Nice.EmSilkNat wrote: Lip Products: I look forward to trying a few of the beautiful-and-good eye and lip products too! I think you will likely end up as a Buttery Gold, but Warm Gold and Olive are also possibilities. A sample kit is your best option, because you are testing the formula as well as the color. If shipping is an issue for you, consider a sample kit plus a foundation refill in white. As for the formula, I would try All Purpose or Medium Coverage.
Buttery Gold will be about 1 scoop color to about 5-6 white, Warm Gold 1 scoop color to about 6-7 white, Olive 1 scoop color to about 9-11 white.
If you need help adjusting the color, just ask here and I can help with that!

Thanks for your reference.
How about the perfecting powder? Date bait or temp tryst I wonder?
And the concealer to hide the scars? Sleep in a jar or just equalizer?
