Color help -- first time sampling

Post by MidwestGirl14 » Tue May 22, 2012 9:34 am

Hi!

This is my first time here. Could you advise on the right recipe for my foundation?

I have rather fair skin but don't burn too easily. I had a professional color analysis done and was told I am "autumn" (golden and muted undertones). My hair is reddish brown and I have grey eyes. As you can see from my pictures, I have acne-prone skin.

I have been wearing liquid foundation for about 2 years now, but with my skin continuing to worsen, I'm on an adventure to clear my skin naturally, and I want to wear a "healthier" makeup in the process. I read that minerals was the way to go!

As I do have quite a bit of hyperpigmentation that I want to cover, would the medium coverage finish be a good choice, or would it not let my skin breathe enough to heal?

Two pictures below are in indirect sunlight indoors near a window. The other shows the extent of my natural tan and is taken in a car. I'll attach a few more pictures.

Thanks!

I always recommend a sample kit just in case I am wrong, but I think you will be a Warm Gold. I am guessing it will be close to 1 scoop of color and about 7 or 8 white. I usually recommend starting with the Original Formula Foundation because it is the easiest to color match, and usually looks the most natural. You could try the Medium Coverage if you want, but it will be a little more challenging to mix and get a match. (For Medium Coverage in Warm Gold it might be more like 1:6.)

You're so fast! I also posted to the Foundation help topic, realizing I put my question in the wrong place, but thank you!
