I received my new U kabuki brush, my other was old not as soft from lots of use and apparently I always rub my brush in the same direction so the center was kind of twisted and knotted.
The new one doesn't seem as dense but it's hard to compare to the old because it's in bad shape. It seems more like a powder brush then a foundation one. As a comparison my blush brush seems to be denser. I have been using my flat top for the last few months and that has always felt firmer.
So is my memory off or have they changed the density

of the brush?

Hello stranger! I have come and read at times but as you know children are a time vortex, it takes 5 x the hours in a day to care for them. And now she just turned 2 so I think that is 10x's as she is very good at being 2.

There is some degree of difference between a broken in brush, and a new one, but they should still be similar in bristle density. I have two U Kabukis, but one was from long ago, and the other from longer ago....

They seem similar to each other, but definitely much more like a powder brush than the flat top (which is much denser), and seem less dense than the blush brush due to the length of the bristles. I use the kabuki for lighter coverage, and the flat top for heavier coverage. If you still think there is something wrong with the brush, I would email.

It looks like I purchased the first one about 2008. I'm not sure there is something wrong with it, it's likely my memory. I hoped someone had purchased more than one and could compare since my old one is toast.

I hear what you are saying.... I hope my offering of the differences between the Flat Top, Blush Brush, and Kabuki might have helped a little....and that my kabuki is my go to brush for light coverage...like a powder brush.
I have one from 2008, and one from 2009.

It is good to see you here!!! I *think* the manufacturer may have changed a while back, but don't quote me on that. There's always a little bit of variation, but it should be similar. If it's not- email me through the site, and we'll get you taken care of.
