Blaze vs Kindle?

Post by JenK » Tue Oct 11, 2011 8:14 am

Are Blaze and Kindle similar? To me their swatches look similar w/ Kindle being more bold. Their descriptions are different though (cooler red vs deep warm red-orange). I need to stay away from anything w/ a hint of pink b/c my lip color pulls it right out.

They aren't very similar, but I guess they are in the same color family. Blaze is a sheer red with a small amount of gold shimmer. Kindle is more of a coppery orangey color with that sheeny type shimmer so that it is much more opaque. I know they look similar in the swatch, but the light is not catching the shimmer in Kindle. My cooler toned daughter loves Blaze, but Kindle would be way too warm colored for her...and maybe even too warm for me.

Just to second Jen's description: I love Blaze but I don't think Kindle works for me at all. I'm neutral toned and light, and Kindle is a bit overwhelming on my face.

Thanks JenW and egerandi!

I think I will give Combustion a try over Kindle, maybe give Blaze a try...just don't want it turning pink.

Now I need to narrow down Bombshell, Cayenne and Tango!! Too many to pick from!

Definitely Bombshell, if you ask me.

No pink in Blaze at all as far as I can tell, never turned on me. I like Cayenne for its warmth, I can even pull it off :)

I am getting Bombshell. If it doesn't work it's all yours! I just tried on Clinque's Merlot w/ Sn's Roxie (helps block out the pink in my lips, W/o Roxie it looks more Berry Pink w/ a hint of Red) and I think it is pretty much Tango.

I'm late to the discussion, but thought this might still be helpful for future reference. I received Kindle yesterday, and on me (and in the tube) I don't detect any pink at all. It is certainly a unique colour, though.... I'm undecided about it. In the shade, it's a nice deep warm peach, almost brown. In sunlight, the crazily opague shimmer (think Temptation) is harsh but lightens the colour. I'll probably layer Fanfare over it next time to see if I can soften the effect.

This really helps, I never like the "crazily opague shimmer" of Temptaion on me...bit too much! I will try Blaze. I really like Fanfare and was thinking about Allue. Are they so close I don't need both?
