Glory

Post by egerandi » Tue Sep 20, 2011 5:26 pm

I dismissed Glory so far based on the main pic because it looks a bit olive-y, and if there is one color that just looks wrong on me, that's olive. However, I'm seeing swatches of it showing it more like in the neighborhood of Idolize... can someone confirm either way? I like a good taupe :)

Oh yes, indeedy :) Glory is fabulous. It's got a complex taupe base colour that just works sooo well on the skin tone and it has a micro-fine shimmer that's barely there so the skin looks more radiant. It's like you're wearing a hint of taupe eyeshadow but there's just that indefinable something special about it. It utterly rocks for a non-boring basic blank canvas eye against a fierce red lip. It's quietly in the background but still holds it own. It's an absolute must-own.

p.s. agreed about olive being lousy on my skintone too but I don't get olive coming through at all. (buttery gold undertones and very fair, near milk-white skin)

Well then, that pretty much decides it :) I have so many new red lippies/combinations, I simply must own this shadow. Thanks for the glorious description :P

Edited to add: I'll link this thread into the reviews, unless you mind?

Glory is superb indeed, but I am at a loss as to what other shadow to pair it with. Wearing a highlight color under the brow is a must for me since my skin there is near to transparent so it needs a little oomph. Tried Inspire, but alas it was un-inspired. Any suggestions? Thanks!
