Need Help With Undereye Concealer
Need Help With Undereye Concealer
I have really dark circles all the time, regardless of how much sleep I get. I'm looking for a concealer that will make them disappear! I've tried pale yellow and pale green mineral correctors from other companies and neither of them worked.
Can anybody suggest which Silk Naturals concealer/corrector I should try? I'm thinking one of the peach ones might be good, but I don't know if I need light or extra light peach. Or maybe I should try the bright yellow one?
My skin tone is quite fair, with golden undertones. In mineral foundations I'm usually the second lightest shade or a teensy bit darker. The light medium golden foundation from MAD Minerals is a pretty good match for me. I'll attach a pic of me wearing no makeup.

Re: Need Help With Undereye Concealer
I would try samples of all of them (Original Sleep in a Jar-yellow, Light Peach, and Extra Light peach). I am thinking Extra Light Peach will be the closest, but concealers are sometimes tricker to match than fouindation.

Ahh, that's what I was guessing. Thanks

I have fair/neutral skin, which is about the same lightness (is that a word?) as yours.
My dark circles are also about the shade of yours, if not a little bit darker.
I have had great success with the light peach. I find that the orange in the concealer neutralises the blue (because of the nifty fact that opposite colours cancel each other out!)

Awesome! I will definitely try the light peach. Regular skin-toned concealers cover my circles a bit but you can still see a greyish tone through the makeup, so hopefully the peach corrector will be better. Thanks.

Re: Need Help With Undereye Concealer
My skin tone is more on the light-medium side but my undereye circles are just like yours, maybe a little darker, and the Sleep in a Jar in Light Peach is the only thing I will ever use now. If it's ever going to be discontinued I will buy a wheelbarrow load of it first!
I first started wearing makeup when I was 15 because of the dark circles (it's not very nice when you feel energentic, positive and zesty on the inside yet look tired and haggard on the outside!) and believe me I've tried so many different concealers, and this is by far the only one that's worked for me.
I apply SIAJ using either a concealer brush for more coverage or an eyeshadow kabuki for days when I just want a little perk up. I never had any success applying with my finger.

Have you guys tried serums w/ Vit K? That is the only thing that has ever helped my dark circles. Mine are caused by year round sinus/allergy problems. If only I could find a product that helps my undereye bags...at least they are now fleshed toned and not dark
Re: Need Help With Undereye Concealer
Wow, I hope it works like that on me! We'll see. I ordered my samples last night.
I haven't tried any products that are supposed to lighten the circles. I've had mine since I was a kid. I'll look into Vitamin K though, thanks.

Re: Need Help With Undereye Concealer
My skin is quite light too and my undereye circles quite dark so actually I was surprised when the Sleep in a Jar extra light peach turned out too light for me (years of buying the lightest foundation I could find and it always turning out too dark still makes me think I'm snow white in my head apparently...). Luckily the light peach is a perfect match
The powder is a smidge too sheer for me (normally not a problem, I don't mind a little bit of darkness) but if my circles look particularly dark and I look like I've been up for days, I use the creamy concealer first and then the powder Sleep in a Jar on top and it works really great, no more panda eyes!
I hope your samples work out, the peachy shades should work wonders.

Re: Need Help With Undereye Concealer
My dark circles are hereditary. I've tried many things including Vit K, none which worked. My uncle has tried antihistimines which also did not work. I think laser is an option. I do wonder if there is some form of sclerotherapy they can use under eyes, like they do for spider veins. Hmm...!JenK wrote:Have you guys tried serums w/ Vit K?
