Bon Bon gloss - what color is it??

Hi gals,

What color is Bon Bon? Is it really brown? How does it look on you, and what color are your lips/skin?

Wondering if it would look nude on me or if it would be too brown or dark.

For reference - Infatuation is very close to my natural shade, but is just a smidge darker than my lips. Rare Berry is second-closest but is too red.

It is sheer shimmery brown with a hint of mauve. But only a hint. I think it might be more brown that you are looking for, but it does allow your own lip color to show through a bit. It is one of my favorites for Fall.

I love Bon Bon gloss.
It is brown, but very sheer. I have rather pigmented lips and I really like how it tones down my lip colour.
It´s my "go-to-gloss" at the moment.

I love Bon Bon as well...I always think it's a mauvey-type colour, and am always surprised when it's fairly neutral...for me, it just makes my lips look more finished. A touch of colour!

What I really want is a true nude look which I have trouble doing because my lips are like, the most unusual shade that doesn't work with true pinks but also doesn't work with true peaches, and that looks absolutely horrific with browns. I would like to tone down my lip color to a "true" nude, but have trouble doing so. Rhonda is good for this but tends to look frosty and too cool - like, it tones down my lip color successfully, but ends up looking a little goth (fun for concerts and bars but not exactly great for work). Seedy did not work; it looked too dark on me. It is fine as a color but isn't nude or subtle at all on me!

So I am thinking Bon Bon might not be TOO brown but would still tone down my pigment...??? Not sure - it's hard to go by the description and swatch. Do you think you could swatch it for me alongside some similar colors that I'm familiar with, like Infatuation, Gold Blush, Rhonda, Seedy? I know that is a lot to ask... maybe you could swatch that but also some of the new colors and then we could see an additional example of them!

I guess what I really want is Rhonda but more brown/peach/gold tones in it? Does that exist? I am also looking at Sweet Nothing as a possibility for this purpose.

I did a few swatches for you. One is general, and the other more specific. Honestly, I think Skinny Dip will be too warm of a brown for your taste. I am thinking for a nude you will probably like Sweet Nothing the best. It has a mauvish cast in comparison to Skinny Dip (more brown) and Birthday Suit (very slight pink). The 'Wild Card' I threw in was Divine. I do think Divine gets close, but you might think it is still too pink. Bon-Bon is a neutralish brown and sheer, so it will allow your own lip color to show some, and might work.
