Samantha, you just took my recommendations about right out of my mouth!
I haven't worked in restaurants in years and years, but the term *monkey bowls* just brought it all back!
And, the Dollar Tree, don't EVEN get me started.....love that store!

Re: swirly bowl
Hi, ladies,
I've been using a white Corel ramekin (when I was a kid we called them "custard cups"). There were some very pretty ones in the 50's, 60's and 70's. If you're a garage sale shopper, try hitting sales of retirees that are moving into smaller places (or south). You wouldn't believe the stuff that came out of my in-laws' house when they decided to sell the family home and move into an RV! I just bought a small covered clear glass sugar bowl at Walmart for about $3.50 that's bigger than a ramekin, smaller than a rice bowl, and all rounded. I'll report back if I like it better than the ramekin. Lauren

My next click is to check out the Aveda one, I've gotta see this (for $19)...I thought I was bad with my makeup spending habit. My next addiction is going to be cheaper, like crack.

You're right... absolutely right...
But makeup is so much more fun than crack. Makeup doesn't burn holes in my mucous membranes.

Egads, girls, stay off the crack!!! This addiction is far more fun, relatively cheap, and the withdrawals are manageable.
Reporting on the small round glass sugar bowl from Walmart - I like it a lot, better than the ramekins and it's prettier. Also, if you tap the brush handle against the top edge with the hairs angled back toward the side of the bowl (to remove excess powder), you get less powder in the air. My order for the new goodies is in. Can't wait to try them out! Lauren
