Larger selection of brushes

Post by Autumn » Thu Mar 20, 2008 7:00 pm

I am very happy with all the brushes that I have purchased from Silk Naturals. I have the mini kabuki, the ulimate eye shadow brush and recently purchased the brush kit.

I would like to see another type of blush brush. I really like the fibre optic ones that allow you to apply blush as sheer as you like; or keep adding layers for more colour.

I like the eye liner end of the Ultimate eye shadow brush but would like to have a "smudger" brush that helps give that smokey liner look.

I would also like to see a large fluffy powder brush to apply finishing powder (Love lure and Date bait).

I really like brushes and good ones are hard to find (without paying a small fortune!) I am looking for in general, brushes that you will not see in the department stores (fibre optics, etc.).

Oh I agree with fiber optic blush brushes! My absolute *fav* blush brush is a fiber optic baby buki i bought when mod-minerals was closing. I can't find them anywhere! MMU companies just do not sell them and it is such a perfectly amazing little brush. I can wear any color i want to and it's THE perfect size for my cheeks. If SN did carry it, she'd be one of the only ones.

For reference I have: SN's FF Baby Buki, SN's FF Ultimate Eyeshadow brush x2 (first one broke and i left it that way! It's kind of nice having them so small and manipulable-is that a word? My second one is in one piece). I also have the same FF Long handle flat top (my fav.) that she sells, I just bought it from another co. before SN's "Big Boom" on MMM(so thankful for the big boom. I love Silk Naturals... :D ). They're really all terrific quality brushes.

3rd or 4th *attempt* to reply to this, grrrr & lol ;) ;) . BE's Soft Focus Face Brush is vegan & a brush like that would be a grand addition to the lineup. Unfortunately my fiber optic bled dye after many washings ~ didn't bleed in the beginning ~ now is useless & I keep it as a reminder NOT to buy brushes with dye.

Yup - big fluffy powder brushes would be good, as would stippling brushes. And maybe a fan brush and a smudger for eyeliner/eye shadow.

Two of my FF brushes have turned into 'brush assembly kits' as well - other than that the quality is really nice. Thing is, it's not just me - I have seen a fair number of complaints about the problem on bigger forums. Any chance of having a word with Ann over at FF to see if anything can be done about this?

That's an old problem re brushes detaching from the handles, Rhys. Long before I ever discovered SN, I bought individual brushes & kits from FF, & one had detached in its travels. Ann just said to superglue it & I did. Just have run into it with that one brush but it apparently (appears to me, anyway) is/was limited to a type of hot glue that may or may not still be in use. It's a wonder, really, that I haven't had any issues with any other brushes since I've got so ding-danged many, ROFL!

BUMP
I think there was another thread on big floofy powder brushes recently, but I can't find it, so I'm bumping this thread.

My powder brush from Prescriptives is finally getting ready to collapse after many years of hard abuse. Is there any chance of a BIG floofy powder brush being added to SN's website? I don't want just a regular brush... I want a big, floofy brush.

If not... let me know so I can go to the mall and spend a fortune on one.

Ummm...how does this look? I just ordered a few to try out, but haven't seen them in real life yet.

It might be the photo, but that looks a lot denser than what I had in mind for a powder brush. Maybe not other people, though?

I agree with Rhys, although I'd one of those would be good too. For powder, a larger one with a much bigger, floppier, fluffier bristle head would be great.
