Revisiting my reds

Post by egerandi » Fri Apr 29, 2011 8:58 pm

I think I'm ready for a new one. I wear Reddy a lot, and Crimson on special occassions. I tried Cassis and it was too 'vampiry' on my complexion. Symphony didn't work and I ended up giving Casual Red away - they were both on the bright end (can't really explain). Other favorites: Cerise and the discontinued cherry liquid gloss. I tried Cayenne and I can't tell if I liked it or not as I lost the stick the same day. Hot Blooded is good, but a bit too muted for much use: I want my reds to make a statement, but the right one 8-) .

Ones I'm considerig: Bombshell and Tango. Could someone swatch these two with some of the other ones above for comparison? Thanks!

Roxie applied lightly is a very wearable red on my pigmented lips.

Somewhere on here Sam posted a great pic of Tango.

I was looking at Roxie, but it may be too brown for me. I love the effect Dixie does with Blaze: it may just be the orange red lippie I was looking for :)

Oh, I saw Tango, I was just hoping for side-by-side comparison or description (like Tango is cooler/brighter/warmer/redder/browner/pinker/etc) than Bombshell :)
I found a pic that shows Crimson and Bombshell together, so that also gives me a good idea. Tango seems like Symphony or Casual Red - can someone confirm that?

i'd say it's close to casual red. I am meaning to swatch them for you, but I've had a stomach bug most of the week and don't want to contaminate my lippies. :)

Eeeek, hope you feel better soon! Ok, unfortunately, Tango is out of the running too, Casual Red now has a happy home in my friend's purse :)
I ended up finding Cayenne (totally not with the lippies I thought it would be), so I'll just get Bombshell with my next order.

Thanks for all your help!

Dame is pinker and more subtle than tango. Tango is darker and slightly redder than casual red and reddy.

Thanks for those swatches! I may just have to reconsider Tango :)
