Hi
I have acne prone skin, but after a skin test, I actually have skin that is oily on the inside and dry on the outside (i.e. dehydrated). I was wondering what products will be suitable for me. I have redness in my cheeks because of old acne scarring and some cystic acne.
I was wondering how to reduce the scarring, should I use the BHA+AHA combination, if so then do I just layer one on top of the other? Or should I use the super serum instead? Or would another serum be good? I'm also looking at the Vitamin C and green tea serum.
For moisturizer, is jojoba oil ok? Or should I go for a more intensive moisturizer because of my dehydrated skin?
As a side note, if alcohol is drying, why do so many skincare products have it?
Thanks for any help!

Dehydration is best addressed with a serum like Green Tea & Aloe, or Oatmeal.
For trying to reduce the scarring, it might take a combination of things.... Super Serum is good and probably the strongest, but you have to be careful with the BHA/AHA part of your routine (don't apply the Super Serum afterwards, as the products react and give the skin a red flush). If the Super Serum is irritating to your skin, the Vitamin C Peptide is ideal and can be used along with AHA and/or BHA. For the AHA/BHA part, you need to slowly work up to using them. Start one or the other of them every two or three days...work up to one of them every other. Then start layering them every other... I don't know how your skin migh handle them everyday as we are all different.
Hmmm...the alcohol affects everyone's skin differently. There are people out there who are genetically blessed and can use just about any product they want with great results. And then there are those of us who have to work at it a little more, and be cautious of ingredients.

Re: Help for acne prone skin: BHA/AHA or super serum?
Thanks for the help! Hmmm think I'll try to go with the vitamin c then a sample of super serum to see how it goes. In that case the order is:
Cleanser-> bha/aha -> vitamin c peptide -> green tea and aloe -> moisturizer -> makeup/sunblock (in the morning)
And the same for the day except without the acids is that right?
Oh I'm currently using a salicylic acid peel 20% once a week from skinlaboratory, is that too strong with this routine? Cheers
