Skin care rave and shelf life question

Post by bookishbeauty » Tue Mar 22, 2011 3:59 pm

I keep meaning to come here and say how much I love the Silk Naturals skin care stuff! Thanks Karen for making such great products so affordable!! I had so much redness, flakiness, huge pores, etc and I've been using the Apricot Cleansing Oil (LOVE), Facelift Serum, and Firming Moisturizer for almost three months now with wonderful results. My husband has been telling me I glow. :D The skin around my nose and on my cheeks is almost normal skin color now, instead of red, and I can't remember the last time that has been the case. So, thank you.

My question is about the Firming Moisturizer. I was wondering what the shelf life is on that one and am not seeing it in the product description. I think I am on track to use up the Facelift serum within the three months shelf life but I was hoping the Firming Moisturizer was a bit longer since I am going through that a bit more slowly.

Edited to add: Oh, and I wanted to say that I am also using both the Facelift Serum and the Firming Moisturizer on my stomach area--I am a fairly thin person but my belly was HUGE when I was pregnant with my second and there is a lot of saggy wrinkly skin left over still at nearly three years post partum. I am tentatively saying that this combo might be a miracle worker for that problem. There is DEFINITELY less saggy skin there than when I started a couple of months ago. I am tempted to take a picture now so I can see the rest of the progress!! :D

Awesome!!!!! I'm glad it's working for you :)

It's generally 6 months on anything that doesn't have Vitamin C in it. We always say 6 months because the preservative starts to turn slightly acidic after that, but I found a moisturizer at my house that was older than that, and used it. As long as it doesn't look or smell funny it should be fine.

Great! Thanks. I can't imagine I wouldn't be finished in 6 months...I am using it twice a day, but it only takes a pump or two each application.
