Need help covering up bruises after surgery

Post by brighton girl » Mon Jan 03, 2011 5:39 pm

Hi Everyone -

This is my first post and I need some help! Last month I had my nose fixed to correct a deviated septum. I still have noticeable bruising under my eyes and near my cheekbones. I am Irish-complected - fair, cool-toned, brunette with highlights, green eyes, faded freckles, redness around nose and chin. What can I use to help cover up the bruising without it looking like a pile of makeup on my face? Thanks in advance.

What color is your bruising?

What color is your bruising? IMHO, the ideal solution would be a foundation that matches your face seamlessly. If you don't have a perfect foundation match, try dusting on sheer powders that are opposite on the color wheel to your bruising. The complementary colors may help diminish their appearance.

Bruising is blue, so I guess I'll try peach colored concealer? I'm beginning to think these bruises are permanent - I have such thin skin. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

I had a bruise on my leg for a year before it went away. Don't give up hope yet.

I don't often need to cover bruises (though i am very VERY clumsy), but i do have dark undereye circles that i cover anyday that i wear makeup.

I use a pale yellow cream concealer stick (most of the time i use an offbrand that's more opaque and convenient in a stick form, but SN does offer both peach and yellow cream concealers which i apply with a brush) and blend it out in a thin layer from my eyes. *Make sure you conceal the inner corners of your eyes at the bridge of your nose too. I usually set the cream concealer with SN's powdered peach SIAJ and then do the rest of my makeup as usual (foundation, finishers, etc).
