Universally flattering e/s shades

Post by khasart1 » Thu Nov 04, 2010 7:22 pm

I am fairly new to SN. I am wondering what e/s you gals think are universally flattering to all skin tones and eye colors?

To be perfectly honest, I don't think one exists. I think there are many shades that flatter a wide range of women (like neutral to cool or neutral to warm), but I don't think there is absolutely one shade that anyone with any skin tone, eye color, personal style, etc... can wear. Nice as SN's eye shadows are, they aren't quite THAT magical yet. ;) Though I'm holding out hopes, Karen is rather talented, I'm sure she's hiding magic morphing dust somewhere!

But, I'm sure someone else will come along and have a different take on it! :D What sort of shade are you looking for?

I've always been partial to the morphing colors or any of the pink and purple neutrals with gold sparkles in them.

The Colors for a Cure are an awesome collection though!

I guess I was thinking of neutral shades or one color washes (for example tailfeather or earth). The morphing e/s might also fit the bill. I do like all of the Colors for the Cure very much. What do you guys think of nymph?

I do need to take a picture and post it here. I am not the most technical person and I am also very un-photogenic. I have light skin and hazel (brown/green) eyes if that helps. I will have to wait on the picture because I am at work right now.

Colours that a lot of people seem to love include earth, vineyard, any of the taupes (eutaupia, taupetastic), idolise, most people seem to really like homecoming queen as a highlight (although of course these will depend on skin colour etc.)
I don't think that there really are any universally flattering colours, but Karen does make gorgeous neutrals, so I think if you try a few you see mentioned in the forum a lot you really can't go wrong. The FOTD (face of the day) thread is good for inspiration :)
