How is your eyeball? Hehehehe :)
I saw Cupcake's description of Bailey, and ordered, and seeing your video now I'm absolutely sure I will love it. Pacific looks nice too: could it be that it works well for you because of the gold in it that goes with your skin tone (which is pretty similar to mine)? I like blues in general and can wear most, but I'm intrigued by Pacific. Post your link when you do a look with it!

Ha! My eyeball is great, thanks for asking.

I'll try to get Pacific into a look one of these mornings. I guess it is maybe the gold. I think that the more saturated blue and purple colors are, the easier they are for me to wear. I seem to have trouble with the paler purples and blues... IDK what is different between your skin tone and mine that makes it that way. Can you wear grey? I forget.

Great video Zeebs!

Do you tend to prefer stronger colors in clothing vs greyed pastels? Maybe stronger colored eyeshadows work better for you because the colors are brighter and clearer, so they balance your light, clear eyes? (clear as in clarity, not see through, obviously ;) ) And they don't usually have a lot of grey or brown in them, which can end up muting the colors and looking really muddy on light, clear skin like yours! Or....at least that's why I tend to have better luck with them myself. ;)

I can wear grey, as long as they don't have lavender in them or they are not too cool. Those kinda wash me out. I have ton of grey clothing too, my new favorite is gunmetal (as opposed to heather that I can't wear) grey and can't get enough of Big Guns . But yeah, now that you mention it, more intense colors look better on me too. Even with clothing: bought some pretty cardigans from Banana Republic online, but when they arrived, even though I loved the colors, they just didn't look right: they were muted, muddy version of the colors that otherwise I could totally wear, were they jeweltone-like bright.

And Bailey arrived, love it :) I highlighted it with Homecoming Queen (but even Liberty would work in a rush) and creased with Alakazam, as I couldn't find anything else remotely brown-like in my collection, but it works!

Thanks Laurie! I'm glad you liked it. :)

Re: muddy and grey - yes, that's totally it, cool colors are just bleh unless they're saturated. Are you saying that they compete with a complexion like mine/yours? I have trouble making sense of it in terms of every color theory I've heard regarding skin. One potential exception, I have heard that there are "high contrast" colorations (pale skin, dark hair) and "low contrast" colorations (pale skin, pale hair) and so even though two people might have similar skin colors their hair color makes a difference (and eye color too) in terms of which colors look good. So the "high contrast" coloration would need more dramatic colors whereas the "low contrast" coloration would need more pastels and muted colors. This is the only one that makes sense to me regarding my skin, and it seems somewhat generalizable to me... but for somebody with dark hair and dark skin, maybe that would mean that darker neutrals (rather than pastels) would be considered "low contrast".... ?

I have the same problem with clothes. I find that saturated jewel toned colors look great on me like jewel toned purples and blues. I have black hair, pretty tan olive skin and dark eyes.

Hmm.. zeebs I think your theory is pretty spot on in my case. I don't look good in any neutral colors- brown, tan, beige and white is ok on me. But black, I love... must be why I own a ton of black tops :)
