Strange Breakout Help?
Strange Breakout Help?
This is really bizarre. The last few days, I've had like hundreds of little tiny blistery bumps all over my cheeks. I have never had any pimples on my cheeks before and have no idea what else it could possibly be. Nothing new with my routine that I can think of. Any ideas for how to make it go away? It looks and feels really gross to me. Thanks, gals!

Maybe it's an allergic reaction to something you ate or flowers or whatnot? I say that cause that is one of the symptoms of my allergic reactions. (I still haven't figured out what's affecting me this summer, but it's not makeup, thank goodness).feyith wrote:This is really bizarre. It's quite probable that it's an allergic reaction. I've been under a bit of stress and my body has been doing some crazy things lately. Is it safe to put anything on it? GT&A? Acne lotion?

O I don't know. When it happens to me, I don't use any products other than foundation during the day and I take an antihistamine. Then after I wash my face with SN's just regular face wash, I only use jojoba oil, if that. But I don't use very many skincare products anymore anyway. I've found doing anything different just makes it worse.feyith wrote:It's quite probable that it's an allergic reaction. Sounds like a reaction to something. Are they hives??? My skin is crazy and I have reacted to products months after starting them.feyith wrote:This is really bizarre. Do they look like tiny little pimples with itty bitty white tips that come up after a day or two?? Kind of like a rash of tiny fluid filled pimples... It sounds a lot like the folliculitis that I've had before... i.e. inflammation of the hair follicles. I get it along my arms, back, neck, and face.
There are many causes of it, I notice I'm more susceptible to it when under a lot of stress. Hot showers, hot tubs, overexposure to the sun, lots of sweating, or another infection in the body (like an ear or sinus infection), and certain antibiotics can all cause it to come out. I hate it, it's so annoying! Thankfully it's not scarring though, and antibiotics make it chill out. If you suspect it might be folliculitis, don't reuse towels, wash clothes, body puffs, etc... in case it's bacterial in nature. And pay a visit to the doctor.

Thanks for the thought, Tiara. I went to the doctor and they think it might be a sun reaction due to some antibiotic medication I've been taking causing photosensitivity. Since antibiotics are likely to have caused it, they're not going to give me any more and suggested just trying some hydrocortisone for a little bit and seeing if that helps.

In the 9th grade I was on a low dose antibiotic for acne. I fell asleep on the deck for an hour and woke up to bright red legs. I even got a few blisters...very painful.feyith wrote:Thanks for the thought, Tiara. Hope things have calmed down!!

I get this too. I use hemp soap for mine. IDK if the hemp moisturizer would help?... frequent showering with Dr Bronners usually does the trick for me. That and changing my pillowcase daily til it clears up.superwahz wrote:Do they look like tiny little pimples with itty bitty white tips that come up after a day or two?? And I know this sounds weird but a fresh garlic clove... cut it in half to expose a fresh surface and rub it on (try a test patch!!!) this also helps heal cold sores faster for me.
